Question about Sony KV-35S42 35" TV
Your statement is not clear. Sound was working in stereo or mono mode. Whatever it is you said i hit button on the remote means which button. Suppose you got the solutions in multiple order combinations means there is dry contact in the mother board. If it is not there check the menu options whether the sound system is set in your type of reception if it is BG or I or DK.

Keep the TV in stereo mode to get the best sound quality. The sound will work in stereo
mode even if a certain broadcast is in mono sound only.
Choose the mono setting to reduce excessive noise on a certain channel or broadcast.
Selecting SAP will allow you to hear an alternative soundtrack, if one is available.

I have a problem that just started with the sound on my Sony KV-35S42. For some reason, the sound comming oout is real low even when you turn the control all the way up. I looked through the menu and under the audio area, there is a values set called "Variable: Audio Out".
I am wondering two things.
1. Can I bypass the sound somehow by hooking up a home theatre system to the sound jax ports to play sound out of my DVD or out of my verizon cable box.
2. Do you think this would be worth a repair. The local shop says it's $90 just to pull the box.
