Hi, your problem seems to be related with the AdaptIQ failing to do an active equalisation. HAve you connected the AdaptIq sense headphones on the AUX (left and right coz it will still fail if only one cable is connected) Also make sure tha the sense headphone cable is in the correct color orientation and none is connected to the black jack just below the red one. Try this procedure and if the system still shows error 10 do the following in sequence...

1. Turn off the media center via the"ALL OFF" button in the tray (no DVD disc inside the tray)
2. Turn off the bass module by the power switch underneath the bass module (certain versions may not apply)
3. Unplug the power adaptor of the media center and remove the power adaptor connection from the wall socket.
4. Unplug the bass module (if this has not yet been done
5. Disconnect all speaker wires (satellite speakers I mean)
6. Disconnet the data cable linking the bass module and the media center
7. Allow 10seconds to pass
After 10seconds then connect the following again in this sequence

1. Connect the media center and the bass module data cable first
2. Connect the satellite speaker cables.
3. Connect the media center adaptor (DO NOT TURN ON YET!)
4. Lastly connect the bass module power cable (DO NOT TURN ON YET!)

Once verything is connected, press power "ON" button o nthe RF remote and the media center should turn on. Only the you should switch the bass module power "ON" so that a fresh handshake is achieved.

This ERROR 10 occurs when either the ADAPTIQ process is interrrupted, the data calbe link between the bass module and the media center is loose or when the power connection is interrupted.

If all still fails, then there is a problem with the DSP board of the bass module and would require servicing.

I do hope I was able to help you

Bose 901 equalizer connect to Lafayette 3500 receiver using bose 901 speakers

The Bose 901 speakers require the use of a specific equalizer that is designed to optimize their performance. If you have a Bose 901 equalizer, you will need to connect it to your Lafayette 3500 receiver in order to properly use the speakers.
Here are the general steps for connecting the Bose 901 equalizer to your Lafayette 3500 receiver:
  1. First, ensure that the power is turned off on both the receiver and the equalizer.
  2. Locate the preamp output jacks on your Lafayette 3500 receiver. These will typically be labeled as "pre out" or "line out".
  3. Connect a pair of RCA cables from the preamp output jacks on your receiver to the input jacks on your Bose 901 equalizer. These jacks are typically labeled as "preamp in" or "line in".
  4. Next, connect another pair of RCA cables from the output jacks on your Bose 901 equalizer to the main amplifier input jacks on your receiver. These jacks are typically labeled as "main in".
  5. Turn on your receiver and equalizer, and ensure that the volume levels are set to a low level before playing any music.
  6. Set the Bose 901 equalizer to the "On" position, and adjust the various equalizer controls to your preferred settings.
  7. Finally, play some music and adjust the volume levels as needed. You should notice a significant improvement in the sound quality of your Bose 901 speakers with the equalizer properly connected.
Note: It's important to use the Bose 901 equalizer specifically designed for the speakers. Using a different equalizer or not using any equalizer at all may result in poor sound quality or damage to the speakers.

How can i hook-up a 901 series vi equalizer to a str-de897?

I own 901's(since new) with the active equalizer powered with a non-Sony surround sound receiver.

Basically, you use the MD/Tape in/out jacks to route the signal to the Bose active equalizer. Switch the Tape Monitor switch if no sound is heard.

Here are some references.
https://docs.sony.com/release/STRDE897.pdf http://products.bose.com/pdf/customer_service/owners/901_guide.pdf

Connect equalizer cables (4 total) to the MD/TAPE section of your receiver. OUT from the receiver to the equalizer IN and Out from the equalizer to IN on the receiver.

One issue with the equalizer running through the MD/Tape jacks is that it may affect any other speakers hooked up to your system.

I have a Bose Acoustimass 6 Series III the receiver is Yamaha 3066, this system is a 5.1 surround sound. Then I bought a pair of Bose 901 Series VI Direct/Reflective speaker system with active equaliz

The setup is possible, but with several compromises. First off, to use the active equalizer, you'll need to insert this into one of the 2 channel AV channels limiting your listening with the equalizer to stereo only. The acoustimass subwoofer acts a driver/power regulator for the little cube speakers. It probably will not be able to drive the 901s at the correct level when attached to the Acoustimass unit as front left/right speakers. You could try running a dedicated set of speaker leads to the 901s which may work and still allow surround sound, but you'll lose the equalization capability on the 901s.

Bose 901 equilizer connections to sansui G901DB

It sounds like you may have only the 901 loudspeakers, and not also the companion 901 equalizer box. You must install the 901 equalizer properly--using the tape monitor loop of the G901 receiver. If you of not, the 901 loudspeakers will perform poorly.

Adding Subs to a Bose 901 system

You would need to use a modern equalizer like the EQ901 PS which has a built in crossover and four outputs. This would be connected in the pre-out / main-in loop of your Marantz 2285B.

Want to connect non-bose speakers to a bose lifestyle system

this is possible, however not a very good idea.
Bose speakers are designed a little different than other brand speakers, the Equalizer built into the bose system will probably not sound amazing when you hook up your other speakers. Are you looking for more bass? cleaner highs?

if you want more bass, you could try doubling up your subs, if you want cleaner highs you could buy Bose Jewel Cube Speakers (purchased from a Bose Built-Invisible Dealer

Please ensure that you have turned on the Accoustimass module, this can cause communication errors when calibrating. Also check that all connections are correctly plugged in as if one is not quite sat right this may give the error, just try unplugging them and plug them back in.

Cinemate bose how do I adjust base and trebble

If the system doesn't have controls labeled "bass" and "treble" - or if there are no clever presets like "Hall", "Theater", etc., then you'll have to adjust these parameters before the signal reaches the speakers. One way is to purchase a graphic equalizer to hook between the speakers and the signal source. A graphic equalizer a basically a tone control, with the spectrum divided into 10 or more "slices" instead of 2 (bass and treble). Consider the sliders on the left as "bass", and the ones on the right as "treble". If you're using these speakers for a computer, some sound card software has these controls buried beneath a few menus - but sometimes not. The easiest solution is to buy an equalizer and hook it between the signal source and speakers. Bose is typically "audiophile" equipment, and many audiophiles don't want tone controls (thus the extra electronic processing required) to contaminate the signal. Obviously, most systems do need to offer some control to the user, as you've discovered!
