Keeps asking me to turn off and back on...

I just bought this camera a few weeks ago. Within the first 200 pictures that I took it started giving me this error when I turn it on that says "Turn off camera and turn back on to use." Sometimes I have to do it 4 or 5 times before it will work again. Has anyone else had this problem? Is the camera just defective?

Since your camera is still under warranty, best thing will be calling Sony's appropriate service center for their assistance. Good luck!

Sounds like you have a defective camera. You might want to take the camera back to the place you got it and get a replacement. You can try removing and reseating the batteries to fix the problem.

if you bought it under one year ago then the retailer should be obliged to either replace it or repair it. I would look into this further, ask to speak to the manager or something casue when a tv switches itself off it indicates an error inside and turns itself off to prevent further damage.
