Screen blinks, stops like a DVD on pause only we aren't watching a dvd. There is also a click sound when this happens and it also affects the audio. Screen does not go black or blank. Motor boating, discharges and starts again. This set is not two years old yet. Very annoying to watch.
Good Luck! My SSL2006 tv would cuts off when turned on. Under warranty, the local auth. repair shop tried unsuccessfully to replace parts to fix it. In addition, the repair shop told me it was difficult getting thru to parts support. Either the wrong parts were sent, the right part didn?t work, or additional authorization was required to repair TV. On many occasions I made calls to Sylvania, on the repair shops urging, to find out the status on its repair parts to help get the right parts sent. The set was in an auth repair shop from Feb.-Aug. The shop couldn't fix it. It was sent to Sylvania's repair center in CA, August 18th. WHEN WILL I GET MY TV BACK? I want a new TV!! I have been without this TV for over 6 mos.! I'm very upset with customer service and its repair centers and will never buy nor will I recommend purchasing a Sylvania product.

Fault to the main power supply regulator section. Either it will be a separate board, or the part of main board. Check and replace damaged component/s at its main power regulator [SMPS] section circuit. Contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. You must be sure you are in connection with the menu. Read the menu and find [video source] antenna/cable. Be sure you are in "cable" source. And then program your TV for channel search! Try this, and thanks for asking!
Since you know electronics that will make the explanation simpler;
On your tv model there is a very common problem that you may want to look at;
There is a small board on the right hand side(backlight inverter board),
Look for a shorted D309 , it is a 9.1volts 1watt zener diode.
As i said it is a common problem for your model.
But there is also the power supply;
All lcd tv`s nowadays it seems end up with bad capacitors in the power supply,
You can recognize them by their rounded tops and you`ll find them at the output of the power supply along the 5/12 and 24volts line.
But especially on the 5 volts line.
If your not sure which ones then replace them all (there might be 6 or 7 of them) it won`t hurt and eventually they will go anyway.
Hope this help good luck
You say "it cranked for about 3 seconds and died as if I turned off the key" did it actually start and then die? Have there been any clues (unusual happenings) recently that might relate to the current problem?
Is there a reason the battery went dead? was something left on? Lights, etc?
