Our samsung smart tv zooms in unexpectedly when using apps. especially the youtube app. The zoom remains when returning to the smart hub and only resolves after turning the tv off and back on again.

Some TV's will no longer support the youtube app. Google your model of TV to see if it has been affected. Youtube may no longer be supporting smart hub and there could be one final smart hub update to fix stability issues before the support is discontinued. Some people have had success by deleting and reinstalling the youtube app or even unplugging the TV while the app is frozen and then plugging it back in and turning it on.
Samsung has recently rolled out updates which mess some things up and dropped YouTube app. Try pressing and holding the enter button on the Netflix icon while in the smart hub apps screen. You should get a sub menu, one of which the options should be reinstall
