Remove any DVDs or CDs from the optical drives and then unplug all peripheral devices except for the keyboard and mouse.
Click the "Windows" button and then type "eMachines recovery management" into the search box.
Click on "eMachines recovery management" in the results list and then click the "Restore" tab.
Click "Password Settings" and then type a new password into the text box.
Click "OK" and then click "Restore System to Factory Default".
Type the recovery password into the "Password" text box and then click "OK".
Click "Next" To start the recovery process.
Click "Finish" and then wait for your computer to restart.
This procedure could take several minutes.
Once your computer has restarted, you'll be prompted to create a new user account, enter the date and time and set up the internet settings.

or if you are running XP
If you set your machine back to eMachines factory settings, it might help you for a short while but if you don't have effective virus protection your problems will return in short order.

You should get rid of this virus with an effective virus remover.

You can run Bitdefender's free online scan which doesn't need to be downloaded http://www.bitdefender.com/scan8/ie.html

If you know when you got the virus, you can do a system restore to a time before the virus was on your system.

This article tells you how to run it from safe mode http://bertk.mvps.org/html/safemode.html

Your best protection in general is a complete internet security suite such as Bitdefender or Norton internet security 2009.

If you need to totally rebuild your system and you don't have a recovery disk, contact eMachines to get one.

You might also try a Windows repair install if you have the operating system disk.
Follow the directions here for XP http://www.michaelstevenstech.com/XPrepa...

My computer screen turns blue and restarts window vista

Hi jjlishus,

I see you mentioned that you are having issues with you computer going into a blue screen then it restarts.

You can try to boot into safe mode to see if Windows Vista will Load without having the bluescreen and if it will not shut down or restart, from Safe Mode, try and do a system restore to a data where the problem has not happened yet.

From there-on see if the issue will still happen or no

Getting into Safemode:
restart PC keep on tapping F8 on your Keyboard this will prompt you options, Look for Safemode then press enter this should bring up the safemode screen.

If during the loading of safemode and still happens are any error show up or it goes to a blue screen, you can try going into safemode with command prompt.
to get to safemode in command prompt just do the same as ging into safemode and select safemode in command prompt.

once in the command prompt
Type CHKDSK , then press enter it should check the system for 5 mins or so depending on your PC/Laptops speed.

if still the issue is the same reformatting or restoring your windows back to defaults may fix the issue.

I hope that this will help,

First thing you can do is to perform system restore on safemode..

Hope this Helps :)

You may try booting in safemode.

Follow the steps:

1. Turn the computer on or Restart the computer
* Start tapping the F8 key. The Windows Advanced Boot Options Menu appears. If you begin tapping the F8 key too soon, some computers display a "keyboard error" message. To resolve this, restart the computer and try again.
* Ensure that the Safe mode option is selected (the top option)
* Press Enter. The computer then begins to start in Safe mode.

2. Do system restore. Follow the steps tp://support.microsoft.com/kb/948247. If it do the same thing go to 3.
3. Recovery.

Actually that error is an indication of some bad sectors on the Hard drive. There is still no guarantee that the recovery will work.

restart the system and keep tapping F8
check whether you are able to take the system into safemode.
if it comes in safemode then download and run programs named as malwarebytes and trojan remover.
if you are not able to get into safemode then try safemode with commandprompt and try a system restore from there.

Computer keeps rebooting into safe mode after trying to Restore

Hold down the number "0"key and continue to hold it down as you turn on the laptop. Keep holding the key and then if the laptop makes a sound let go and hopefully it will go into the internal factory restore for your laptop.

If it doesn't then you'll need to restore your laptop with your recovery disks.

Either way the hard drive needs to be wiped out in order to get rid of the virus since it did irrepairable damage to the operating system.

If you need help with restoring your laptop back to factory defaults, let me know and I'll walk you thru it.
