I use the packaged computer program "Sansa file converter" to convert video podcasts to a useable format and it appears to convert them and put them on the MP3 player no problem. However when I try to playback the files it says "use the sansa file converter program to convert this file to a useable format??? I thought that's what I'd already done. Consequently I havent' been able to watch a single video on this mp3 player! Please help

    Trying to convert AVI files using the provided conversion software. I get a message saying I must convert files first.
    AVIs are supposed to be supported, so whats up? I've removed all punctuation and used a short filename... same result.

I imported pictures and it doesn't show on my sansa it says unsupported media format

The Sansa Media Converter (SMC) software is required to convert and transfer videos and photos (pictures) to your Sansa player as well as the memory card in your Sansa player.

NOTE: Only the Sansa e200v2, Fuze, and View allow viewing of video files from the memory card.

STEP 1 - Download and install Sansa Media Converter
The Sansa Media Converter application is available via the Sansa Firmware Updater.


STEP 2 - Convert and transfer your video or image files
NOTE: To see a list of supported image/video file formats, see Sansa Media Converter does not convert a file
1. Run the Sansa Media Converter.
2. Connect the Sansa player to the PC.
3. If a Portable Device windows appears, select Sansa Media Converter using Sansa Media Converter.

4. The Sansa player should appear on the left pane of the Sansa Media Converter console.

5. Click Add Media to add video or photo files to be converted and transferred.

6. The converted files are stored in My Album by default. To place them in a different folder, select My Album then type in a new name.

7. Depending on what Sansa player that's plugged in or if a microSD is present in the Sansa player, click on the Sansa player or the microSD card on the left pane to select where to transfer the converted files. (in the sample below, we selected the microSD card)

8. Click Convert to covert the files.

10. Click OK when finished.

How do u put videos in the sansa

Follow the link at the bottom of post "River Past Crazi Video," which is a conversion program capable of converting AVI files to the Sansa format. Download the program and then proceed through the installation steps.
  • Step 2231318_thumb.jpg Add a Sansa file Click on the icon of a green plus sign marked as "Add Files" at the top-left side of the window. Navigate through the list of folders on your computer and find the AVI file that you want to convert into the Sansa format.
  • Step 3231330_thumb.jpg Choosing the Sansa "Output Format" Click on the name of the specific AVI file and then click on "Open." Scroll down toward the bottom of the program's window and click on the "Output Format" button. Select the "Sandisk Sansa" option from the drop-down menu that will appear.
  • Step 4231341_thumb.jpg Choosing the "Output Directory" Locate the "Output Directory" button just underneath the "Output Format" option. Click on the button and then click on the "Browse" button. Find the folder where you want your converted Sansa file to be saved. Click on the folder and then click on the "Open" button.
  • Step 5 Click on the "Overwrite Existing File" button if you want the original AVI file to be completely replaced by the new Sansa file. Click on the "Convert" button located at the upper-right corner of the window to convert the AVI file into the Sansa file format.

    and WMV.

    NOTE: QuickTime 6.5 or higher and Windows Media Player 9 or 10.0 are required
