Go to Dremel.com or call toll free1-800-437-3635 and tech service might be able to get you a schematic and wiring diagram. It does sound as though the switch is either wired incorrectly or put in upside down. If I have helped you on this would you please take the time to rate me accordingly and Thank you

I have an old dremel 2 speed 16 inch scroll saw. The motor appears to work, but I can't figure out how to put a new blade in it! Can you help me?

a standard coping saw blade or a blade made for the saw - one end is clamped in the piston, the other end is clamped in the upper arm. look for an allen wrench set screw.

I would go to Dremel.com and type in your model number, they also have a toll free number so you can talk with one of their techs to get the correct part.

Changing blade on Dremel scroll saw

I would suggest calling Dremel direct at 1-800-437-3635 and asking for tech help. You might also try their website at Dremel.com, but I have been there and you need to know the exact model number. Let me know and I will dig deeper.
