Never a problem until I just landed IN Puerto Vallarta
took first picture and photo that I took continued to show on monitor
like it froze up
then the red down load light began streaming and had to take batteries out to disconnect as system locked up on me.
Couldn't power off by depressing the power button.
X Card I am using does not have any photos on it.
Only thing new is I just bought a new laptop to take to Mexico.
out X card in Media reader slot and didn't have time to look to see if there were any photos to transfer to my computer. Took X Card out and put back in camera. Could there be an issue with new laptop??
Thanks

It sounds like your XD card is corrupted. How and why i couldn't tell you. You will need to get the pictures recovered from the card using a special software (image recovery software, can down load for free from some web sites, or some companies can try and do it for you) and then try and format the card in the camera. DO NOT FORMAT THE CARD BEFORE YOU RETRIVE YOUR IMAGES. If you do all traces of the images may be lost.
All the best and happy snapping.

hey! u r stuck to such a simple problem. well not to worry when i'm here.
first of all u check whether ur card is locked??? Check the sides of the card and u will find a small slider, slide it down and then insert into ur card reader.
then open My computer, there u will find written removable drive beside the cd drive or so. open it and u will find ur photos. then single right click on any of the photo, a pop-up menu will appear, select to 'copy' option and then open the drive where u want to paste ur photo, and there again single right click and select 'paste'. and guess what ??? it's done!
hey dude, never forget to rate me!!!!

It could be the card reader going bad. Anyways, here's some freeware to use with your card reader. Of the software listed, I recommend PC Inspector SmartRecovery. Use it "intensive mode" (go to File/Settings). If SmartRecovery doesn't do it, I'm afraid nothing will.

its just a matter of batteries...some are not powerful enough to operate the camera ....Try to change them and buy some real good ones..like Duracell or Tatra...do not make any compromises when buy the batteries...get the best cause these kinda cameras really require powerful ones...or ...try to get a set of rechargeable ...
Testimonial: "I new it must have been a simple solution. Camera has been a little gem. Thanks :)"

In this case you should use recovery software to see if you lost pictures can be got back. Recommend you have a try of Wondershare Photo Recovery, a program which can recover lost pictures, videos can music with both Windows and Mac version, you can free download the program from the sites,
(For Windows Users)
http://www.wondershare.com/pro/photo-recovery.html
(For Mac OS Users)
http://www.wondershare.com/pro/mac-photo-recovery.html
Step-to-Step Instruction:
1. Download and install the trial version on your computer, then connect your camera memory card to the computer (I assume you are using Windows). Start Wondershare Photo Recovery and select the drive letter that assigned to camera memory card.
2. Then choose the file type (all, photo, video, music) click "Star Scan".
3. Now the scanning process will start automatically to look for the deleted items. You will then get a list of all recoverable ones.
4. Preview the photos. If your deleted ones are found, then you need pay to get the activation code. And click "Recover".
Tips:
1. Take the free trial version before you buy.
2. Before your deleted items are recovered, do not save more files to the card.
I hope you good luck, Merry Christmas!
