Water leaking at filter

When the door water is dispensed or the ice maker cylcle switches on, water pours out of the back o ring connections on the filter housing. It is not from excess house water pressure and I have replaced the filter.

Why won't the water come out of the in-door water dispenser? Why won't my ice maker make ice?

Be thoughtful of any water leaks. Water leaking beneath the machine will damage floors.

If both the ice maker and water dispenser are not working it is likely the feed connection from the wall to the unit. The hose/ copper tube can get kinked or the valve at the connection at the wall internally plugged. Close off the water at the wall and using a catch remove the connection at the unit open the valve at the wall and confirm the that water flows freely through.

Check the filter of the water located usually at the front grill near the floor. If the filter is removed the water connection will buipass the filter.

It is not likely with both the ice maker and water dispensor that both electrical solenoid valves have failed.

How do I change the water filter on a Frigidaire FRS6R5EMB

If it's the model I'm thinking of, it has a screw in filter cup up in the rear, upper right corner of the fresh foods section. Just twist that weird shaped cup on the bottom counter-clockwise and then pull down on it. It should come out with the filter in it. Then, just take out the filter, put a new one in, and then screw the filter cup back into place.

From a manual of a similar model to yours:

To change filter:
It is not necessary to turn the water supply off to change the filter.
1. Open freezer door and leave open until filter change is
complete.
2. Turn OFF side mounted ice maker by raising wire signal
arm to the UP position. Turn OFF rear mounted ice maker
by pressing ON/OFF power switch to the "O" position.
3. Hold filter cup firmly, and unscrew towards left (Some water
could leak out as you remove cup. This is normaL). Filter
cartridge should come down with cup. If cartridge remains in
housing, puli down gentl_; while twisting filter back and forth.
4. Rinse out cup under running water.
5. The large o-ring that seals the filter system fits in the o-ring
groove inside the cup. Should the o-ring fail out during filter
cartridge replacement, simply place it back in the groove
prior to screwing the cup back in place. If the o-ring becomes
damaged, you wiIIneed to order one from the Flectmtux
Solutions Hottine.
6. Discard old filter cartridge.
7. Remove new filter cartridge from packaging. Place in cup. The
end with the small o-ring should be up, out of the cup.
8. Screw cup, with filter, back onto housing. Do Not Use Wrench
To Reinstall Cup= Filter cartridge will self-align as cup is
tightened. Be sure cup is completely tightened with
PureSource TM logo facing outward. Do Not Tighten Past Stop.
9. Turn ON side mounted ice maker by lowering wire signal
arm to the DOWN position. Turn ON rear mounted ice
maker by pressing ON/OFF power switch to the 'T' position.
10. Check for Ieaks. Open refrigerator door. Wipe any water droplets
from the filter cup. Fi[Ia glass with water. If there is a leak,
unscrew filter cup, and reinsert the filter cartridge. Check
placement of large O-ring. Reinstall filter cup, making certain it is
tightened complete!_,_
11= To prime filter system and purge air from water line,
continue flushing the system for approximately 3 minutes
to assure that the purest water possible is stored in the
water tank. There win be noticeab[e spurts and sputters
as the system pushes air out through the system and
out the dispenser nozzle,This is normal.

I have a Westinghouse side by side refridgerater with water and ice dispenser. The other day I arrived home to find water pouring through the back of the freezer section into the ice maker, and into ice...

Your water control has two sides. One side is for the ice maker and other is the water disapenser. If the ice maker valve becomes mechanically defective the water valve can allow water to continue to flow or not flow at all. Replace the water control valve and I believe this will solve this porblem, Thanks Sea Breeze

GE Side By Side Ice Machine & Water dispenser not getting water

you may have a pin hole in your water line to your dispenser or you could be leaking at the water valve itself on the water dispenser side. you'll have to pull the refrigerator out from the wall and look where the main water line goes into the back of the refrigerator. you will probably have to take the back off to see. be sure you put the back of the refrigerator back when you are through.

Water works on door but ice maker isn't making ice occasionally hear noise like trying to dump ice cubes but no ice

the water valve located on the back of the refrigerator that the water line is connected to could be bad. if no water is coming to the ice maker then it shouldn't have any ice or water in the ice mold. if it is empty you can try pouring enough water in the mold to make ice cubes. wait an hour or so and see if the ice maker dumps the ice. if it does you probably have a bad water valve.

if your ice maker has ice in it but had been making small cubes you should check to make sure you don't have a jam. small cubes could be from low water pressure or a blockage. if your refrigerator has a water filter it may be time to replace it if the water dispenser water pressure is also low.

Does anyone know how to fix an ice maker?

When the ice maker calls for water it pours for about 7 seconds if more will overflow and drips into tray , but the most common problem is the dual valve that leaks even after ice maker called for water (this valve is located in the back of the fridge at the bottom where the water line is hooked up.)

Freezer does not make ice

You need to check and see if ice maker has any water init. if not check the fill tube that goes thru the back wall for stoppage while you have it out rin the maker thru a harvest mode and listen for the sounds of the solonoid opening. If tube is full you'll need to replace the slow leaking valve a common problem. for parts call 704-819-6557

Water dispenser no longer works.

Where the water supply connects to the Ref there is one water valve but, two solenoids. One for the water and one for the ice maker. An OHM meter will tell you if these solenoids are good.

Solenoids good;
Set the meter to volts and check if power is getting to the water solenoid while pressing the water despensor. No power, bad switch.

Water leaking at filter

If this is a Pure source 2 filter in the upper right hand side of fridge, Purchase an Electrolux filter bypass, P/N 241944302. This is a empty cartridge that lets water flow without water drip when filter is clogged. Fridgidaire/Electrolux made no bypass in these filters, so when clogged they leak. Plus they NEVER last more than about 30/60 days. If you use the bypass, you will need a separate filter elsewhere such as in water line under sink or behind fridge. Call me at 816-560-8545 if you need more info.
