Thought the remote was broken, bought a new universal, works now and then. Discovered no remotes work with our tv. Looking for a solution to operate the tv channels without remote. We can change the channels but cannot get to "Game" to watch a dvd or play video games.
I had a similar problem ... As a last ditch effort I decided to open the back of the remote: 1. I removed the two top screws only (I have a torque screw set) and cleaned the sensor w/ a soft cloth ... 2: I then sprayed a can of air through the opening as I could ... re-aligned case and secured screws. It is now operational again.
If this doesn't work check Ask.com for capatible remotes.

Press and hold down the up volume button on the original remote, look at the light (led) on the remote, the light should be lit and slightly pulsing.
If no pulse your remote is bad, if you are seeing the pulse try cleaning the ir window on front of tv.
Let me know if this helps and please rate this solution. lone99star
I recently bought a used LCT2060 that had no remote. I figured my
comcast cable remote would work without a problem but it didn't. So 3
universal remotes later I found my solution...a radio shack
universal gamer remote. It controls up to 5 components plus your
xbox360, playstation and pc. The price on sale was a mere 12.97, not bad
if you ask me. Hope this helped. The code that worked for the Akai
was 11676. Take care...
Hi, First thing, turn off the TV and unplug it for about 2-3 minutes. Remove also the batteries on your remote. Re-install the batteries on the remote and plug in your TV. Power on your TV using the remote. No luck? Norcent may not be supported by a universal remote. If you just bought your unit new (maybe Best Buy who carries this brand) you are still covered by its warranty. Below are ways you can reach Norcent. http://www.norcent.net/main/contact.asp 909) 305-2121 [email protected]
If you can return the remote, I'd pick up a harmony remote from Logitech (they all work fine). It doesn't use codes, just the model numbers of the device. They support 55,000 devices and I have never found a device that they won't control (sorry, I know this isn't the advice you were looking for, but this will make your life easier).
Sorry to say but it is very hard to get parts for this brand. I don't take them for repair anymore. I have a few Duraband remotes. If you can give me the model number of yours, maybe I have a matching one for you.
