Question about Casio Exilim EX-S600 Digital Camera

1 Answer

Charging issues Hey there, I've had this camera for about two months and naturally while using it the battery died an was in need of a new charge, I waited a few days since I didn't have to use it and when I I put the battery into the port it I let it sit there over night. I came back to it in the morning and popped it into my camera and it wouldn't turn on. I thought to myself, 'Well thats odd.' and stuck it back in the charger. I notice that the red light is blinking and yet when I checked the papers I had I didn't see anything about the indication of 'blinking' lights. Now I'm curious to know if theres possibly of the cord, port or the battery being dead.

It could be a dud battery I guess even on a 'new' camera , or a faulty charger Your best bet is to pack it up and return it to seller for replacement.

My Coolpix s6000 just won't charge I bought a new battery and it worked for a short time and now as soon as you take it off the charger it dies. please tell me what I need to do to fix it or how to send it...

It sounds like one of two things. Either there is a short circuit in your camera that is draining the battery or the camera's battery charger circuit is not charging the battery. There are a few things you can do. You can send the camera to Nikon USA for repair (look on the Nikon website for the address the closest repair center). The other thing you could do is buy an inexpensive external charger for the battery and see if the camera works for a resonable period after charging the batteries externally. Adorama.com carries both the Nikon and off brand models and will give you the best price. It that works, you know that the camera's battery charging circuit is the problem. If that is the case, you could pass on repairing the camera and just use the external charger. If that does not solve the problem, the camera will need to be repaired.

If unused for any length of time, rechargeable batteries lose their ability to retain a charge. Try it with a brand new, fully-charged battery. FWIW, I recharge all my camera and flashgun batteries monthly.

Hi, It almost sounds like the battery won't hold a charge anymore which means you need a new battery. Since the camera isn't quite a year old yet I'd suggest contacting Nikon and seeing if they'll do anything for you before you buy a new battery.

Hey i just got my sony vx1000 and its not turning on. i put a battery in the camer and it turned on and mediately turned off and now the battery isnt coming out it or turn on. please help i dont know what...

Hi,

Judging by the cameras response the battery may be low on charge. Try removing the battery (there usually is a button close to where the battery is inserted) and charging it overnight. If it still does not work the battery pack may be dead or worn out. You may need to get a new one as batteries gradually loose their capacity overtime and eventually die.

If the battery is a Ni-Cd or Ni-MH you can attempt to revive it by charging it fully, then discharging it by running the camera, and repeat this cycle many times.

Problems charging

You don't normally need to turn any item on to charge it-it charges quicker turned off. You should have either a power lead you plug into the cam to plug into the mains or a charger cradle which you sit it in and plug that into the mains. You do not need to turn the camera on. When it is charged you will of course be able to.

Electrical

Charge the battery then start the bike and check your charging system. If the charging system is good but the battery dies, there is more than likely a current draw on the battery while the key is off. It could also be the battery. Even though it is new, check the electrolite level if it is a standard battery and refill with distilled water. If it's a maintenance free battery, charge it and take it to a shop and have it load tested.
