Just installed a Jensen vm9312 in my '89 VW Vanagon. Looks, works, and sounds great, except with all the wires and connectors on the back, it sticks out about an inch extra from the in-dash opening. This is okay, because there's a bit of an overhang from the dash above it, and the extra inch gives the screen the room it needs to raise and tilt properly; but cosmetically, it looks like the installation is incomplete. I'm wondering if there's a faceplate extender/adapter available that will finish the job and make it look fully and securely installed? Thanks.
This an old thread, but yes there is an install kit containing a plastic extension that should be available from places that sell car stereos- wal-marts, car stereo stores, etc.
