I can feel ice cubes in the bin but they are not dropping. I can dispense cubes and water from the outside door.
Tried wiping the eyes of the sensors but no luck. How can I eject the cubes by hand? Everything is so tight I'm afraid to break something. I don't feel a jam when putting my hand inside.
Already placed a service call but I have to wait almost 2 weeks!!! If I can resolve this myself I'd like too.
Thanks!
I think you misunderstood. I'm not talking about ice in the bin located in the door. I can feel the cubes inside the icemaker but they are not dropping into the bin. Sorry if I didn't explain it right.
Any ideas how I can manually remove the ice. Everything is so tight inside that icemaker that I'm afraid to break something.I think you misunderstood. first is it the ice maker that doesnt drop the cubes or the auger motor on the door you have to determine if your icemaker is droping the cubes into the bin if its not the replace the ice maker if it is replace the auger motor on the door you can find both of these parts at marcone hope this helps
Remove the ice bucket/container from inside the freezer compartment. Examine underneath at the front of the container to see if ice cubes are lodged between the metal blades. If cubes are caught in this area, they will prevent ice from dropping into the glass/cup.
Your trouble can be in the icemaker. An internal thermostat closes to begin the ice harvest cycle. A motor drives the ejector blades, and a heater releases the cubes from the mold. None of this will happen if the electronic sender and receiver are faulty. This device is to stop the ice production when the bin is full. How are you manually dumping ise into the bin?
Water flow is governed by a solenoid valve which is controlled by a timer that sets the cycle for all of the icemaker functions. The timer is controlled in turn by the switch that is actuated when the bin is full.
One of these three is malfunctioning and to determine which is at fault will require the removal of the icemaker mechanism (to check the switch) and possibly sheet metal on the back of the fridge.
You will also need a multimeter of some kind to check for switch operation and continuity of the solenoid coil.
Adequate instruments can cost as little as $3 and in any case under $20, have digital displays and are normally accompanied by some instructions in Chinglish which are somtimes pretty entertaining.
