Logitech x-230 speaker system

Need the pin readout for the 9-pin d-plug on back of the sub-woofer, so I can determine what pins are for the pwr. switch, pwr. light, left and right sattelite speakers, audio in, etc. Somebody gave me the sub-woofer assembly without the sattelite speakers. Could anyone out there help ?

Ironically enough, I went on here because I have the satellites but no subwoofer! LOL, what are the odds. Anyways, if you happen to receive this information, can you please email me at [email protected]?

Like I said, I'm searching for the same exact information for a similar problem and this would REALLY help as I can't power the speakers without this.

i had the same problem with same speaker system. the amp for this system is inside the bass speaker. if your amp is still working but your bass speaker is not you could cut the wires to that speaker making sure the cut wires do not short out. i was quoted more to repair them than it was to buy a new set. but i wont be buying logitech again as ive had two lots fail.

Where can i purchase the audio cables that connect the Logitech X 230 sub woofer to my laptop and mp3 player

Usually you can purchase audio cables for speakers and sub-woofers from any or authorized PC outlets.
Just explain to the dealership what you want to connect it to and they will shoe you the right "jack" to buy.

X-220 cable is slightly damaged and not making constant contact with sub-woofer mate. Is there a repair where I can replace or cut open & fix the 9 pin cable? To me, the obvious problem is that the...

nothing is wrong with the woofer the connect is broken at the strain relief and the cable needs to be replaced.
You can replace the connector if you know the pinouts. You will need the connector and the schematic.
you may be able to find the pin outs configuration here.

Logitech x-230 9 pin problem . i need to manualy insert wires into pin holes.. So can anyone tell me the color and pin hole nunber to put right wire into

worked on this for 3 days but i finaly got it I had to open it an follow coper lines using datasheet, the connector is RS232 the pins are

1 = LED+
2 = IN R
3 = OUT R
4 = OUT L
5 = GND
6 = ON
7 = 5V
8 = GND
9 = IN L

so you have to put a swiths between pin 6 and 7

you should also put a potentiometer GND-IN-(AUDIO SOURCE)

and a led between pin 1 and GND

and that is it!

I found that one of the pins of the plug connecting the sub-woofer was bent and the plug was not seating properly deep in to the slot. Every pin has a specific task to the sound system, it seems. I set right the bent pin with a long needle gently and re- plugged in to the woofer's slot. After that every thing works amazingly. All it requires is patience and application of mind for a while exclusively focused on the problem.

Sound cable connection

Look more closely at your motherboard, for a 4-pin "PC Speaker" label.

The "HD Audio" is _OUTPUT_ (left front, sub-woofer, right front, left back, right back) to Surround Sound speakers.

Need wiring and 9pin connector diagram

Dell (Altec Lansing) A425 Subwoofer Pinouts

This is a standard female DB-9 serial port.
Here are the pinouts.

Pin 1 = Left Speaker Out +

Pin 2 = Left Speaker Out - (Common Ground)

Pin 3 = Left Line In +

Pin 4 = Right Line In +

Pin 5 = Left/Right line In - (Common Ground)

Pin 6 = Right Speaker Out +

Pin 7 = Right Speaker Out - (Common Ground)

Pin 8 = Power A

Pin 9 = Power B

Jumper (short) Power A to B to turn on.
If you want a volume control you need to put one on the inputs. You will buy buy a stereo volume control or potentiometer.

I used a Radio Shack D-Sub 9 Pin Connector #276-1427
Pin 1-Empty Pin 2-Purple Pin3-Yellow Pin4-Red Pin5-Shield Wire & Green
Pin6 & Pin7-Gray Pin8-Blue & Black Pin9-Brown
The pin numbers are on the face of the connector and are hard to see.
