Question about Kenmore 73502 / 73504 / 73509 Bottom Freezer Refrigerator

1 Answer

Control Panel going crazy

All the lights keep blinking on the control panel. The temperatures go through the entire range, then move on to the next light to blink. The refrigerator or freezer is not as cold as it was. I have tried to set the controls, but as soon as I stop pressing the buttons, they start blinking again, one at a time.

The power went out and I guess it reset the panel. When the power came back on, the lights stopped blinking. A better solution would have been to unplug the refrigerator to reset.

The motherboard likely needs to be replaced. this is a major issue with maytag side-by-sides and its likely that maytag makes that model for kenmore. Cross your fingers, call sears repair, and hopefully they can have it working again within the next month.

Clean light keeps blinking and I cannot get dishwasher to start cleaning dishes. It seems to be hung up.

If it blinks 7 times, then pauses, then 7 times....over & over, then the computer control has failed to see an increase in water temperature during the last cycle. That means the heater could be out, the temperature sensor is out, the heater drive circuit is bad, there is not enough water or the water is not circulating properly. The newer models have different blink sequences that mean other things. On most models you can press hi temp wash>heated dry>hi temp wash>heated dry in quick succession to enter a service mode. All the lights will come on, then after the control clicks a few times, just press cancel & the control will be reset & you can run another cycle. If it does the same thing again at the end of the next cycle, it will need repairs.

Check Fault Codes If the display lights are flashing and there is an error code in the display window, check the Error Codes guide on our website to determine which component has failed or is failing

Touchpad If the display lights are flickering for no reason, the touchpad might need to be replaced. Sometimes when the touchpad is defective the display lights are flashing randomly.

Touchpad and Control Panel If the lights are flashing on the display the entire touchpad and control panel assembly might be defective. If the display works but the dishwasher functions are all out of synch, or some of the buttons don't respond properly the entire touchpad and control panel might need to be replaced.

Heating Element Assembly If lights are flashing on the control panel, the heating element assembly might have burned out. The heating element assembly heats the water up to operating temperature. After a set amount of time if the temperature isn't reached a light on the control panel might start flashing. The heating element assembly can be checked for continuity with an Ohm meter.

Heating Element If lights are flashing on the control panel, the heating element might have burned out. The heating element heats the water up to operating temperature. After a set amount of time if the temperature isn't reached a light on the control panel might start flashing. The heating element can be checked for continuity with an Ohm meter.

Drain Pump If lights are flashing on the control panel, the drain pump might not be working properly. For two-wire drain pump motors check them for continuity using an Ohm meter. If it's defective YOU'LL need to replace it. Drain pumps are not repairable.

Isuzu bighorn transmission light keeps blinking

When this light blinks it indicates a problem exists with the electronically controlled transmission, have it scanned for the fault code that is store in the control module.

Television keeps turning off. there is a red light blinking next to the on switch

Count the number of blinks and make not if there is a sequence. The blinking light will give you what is called the blink code. Google the make and model and at the end add blink codes. You will then find a linkthat will tell you what the blink code means.

Blue temp light blinks

The blue temperature light will blink until the car is up to operating temperature. This is VWs way of telling you to take it easy until the light goes out. If the light stays on all the time you need to have the engine temperature checked to insure that the car is operating in the proper temperature range and if it is then you must check the sensor for the low temp warning system. It may be malfunctioning.

Green light on control panel constenly blinks

This condition can also apply to a dishwasher that has had the electronic control replaced.
A heater fault detection program has been added to the
electronic control to check for temperature rise and shut
down the dishwasher if a temperature rise is not detected.
The cycles have been modified to add 8 minutes 45
seconds of fixed heat at the beginning of the main wash.
If the temperature rise is less than the criteria, then
the unit will drain and blink the clean light 7 times. The
detection will be ignored if the temperature is out of its
normal range, 64° - 160° F, or the door is opened during
the fixed heat.
Once a heater fault is detected and the condition resolved
the electronic control must be reset by initiating a service
diagnostic cycle.

WHY IS THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT ON IN MY SATURN??

The Check Engine light will light when the ECU stores a trouble code.
Counting the Flashes
To retrieve trouble codes, turn the ignition key to the "on" position with the engine OFF.
The Check engine light will flash many short blinks. The total number of blinks equals the code number. For example, flash, pause, flash, flash = code 12.If more than one code is stored, the Check engine light will flash the codes in sequence (lowest to highest) with a pause between each code. The codes will repeat until the key is turned to the OFF position.
