The first thing I would check would be the electrical connections from the transducer, and the transducer wire.

I'd start by checking the transducer function. The easiest way is to borrow another one and see if it works. If it does, and yours doesn't, check for broken wires.

Hello, First check to see if you are getting power to the unit. If you are then remove the battery for 2 mins and then put back in. Try turning it on, if still doesn't power up then will have to be repaired.

Hi.

That is a malfunction with the backlight system. Ensure that the power adapter is well plugged.

Ring Garmin at the number listed on the manual to have the unit repaired or replaced.

I used a suction cup with a bracket to attach the transducer.The suction cup is attached to a rope and when landing just pull.

The rest of the wires are for interfacing (letting the unit 'talk') with other devices such as radar or GPS. These wires/colors are pretty standard and defined by NEMA (National Electrical Manufacturers Association). You need wiring diagrams for the devices to hook them up.
