I have a 2005 V70 Volvo estate with a HU 850 6 Disc CD system. 2 Cds are stuck in the machine. How do I access it to repair the problem?

if that doesn't work...maybe you can ask a car radio installation company. Dealers will problem charge more.

Unless you are a master automotive electrical engineer, or a volvo service tech with mainline access, this will be lots of trouble. The original head units for volvos were flashed at the dealer or factory to each individual car. Even if you got all the wires to match up between years/models, you would still need to take the finished rig to a dealer or specialist to get it "relearned". Plan on spending hundreds of dollars no matter which way you go.

Possible causes:
Spark Plug(s), HT Lead(s), Injector(s), Ignition Coil(s), Low compression, wiring.

To gain access to the bulbs, you need to go under the bonnet (/hood) and remove the housing cover on the reverse side of the light units.
Should just be a simple clip, but make sure that it doesn't fly out of your sight;)
Relatively simple for the rears too.
Just plastic covers on the reverse side of the units, with clips that could break, if you are too rough with them.

This is a common problem with all models of volvo, with the non digital odometer  pre 1998,, there is a tiny nylon gear deep inside the odometer that needs to be replaced. Your dealer will not fix it, but will put in a new one for you as the cost of fixing in labour is more than a new one,, My solution is much cheeper,, I have

850 doors will not work on v70/s70. 850 has more slanted windshield angle, and 850 window controls are in console, so no power window harness!

do you have a cd changer or is it the cd/radio .just a thought the cd button on the radio will only work of you have a changer fitted usually in the boot

One thing about Volvo CD player/changers...they tend to not like burned CDs and even more, burned CDs with labels on them.

I'd suggest against trying to get it out yourself.

You can get it replaced and the dealership should have a form so you can get your CDs sent back.
