I've had this TV or almost 3 years -- it's been great. All of a sudden it seems to have a ratio issue. I can't see the bottom of the screen no matter what settings I use. It's cutting off about 20% of the screen. Maybe more.I've had this TV or almost 3 years -- it's been great. All of a sudden it seems to have a ratio issue. This problem u must play with the tv orignal remote.Look on the tv original remote for a buttons like Aspect Ratio,Picture Sizes,VIEW MODES,ZOOM.Just pushes one of these buttons until u have the desire screen format for u.The screen will jump every sizes,u can't get evrythings u want, have to give and take as the tv pictures exspan or contract.
Look up your user manual, it sounds like your zoom feature has been activated to the max. I have a Zenith backlit LCD TV and it has a zoom feature you control from your remote. You could open up your on screen menu and find the place to reset the TV to factory settings that should clear up the problem.
On the remote look for a button labeled ASPECT,PIC SIZE,FORMAT or ZOOM. Press this button until desired screen size is realized. Some set you have to go into the menu.
This sounds like a picture mode issue. You maybe in a ZOOM mode. Try adjusting your set to FULL mode. If you are using a Sat receiver or cable box, some of these may have picture viewing mode as well, wich may need to be set in FULL or NORMAL viewing mode.
I had the same problem with my westinghouse 47 inch HDTV. It turned out that someone had inadvertently hit the "format" key on my satellite (Direct TV) TV remote controller. If you have satellite TV you might want to check this out. I set it back to the previous setting and I get the entire screen. Hope this helps someone.
