Our tv started with horizontal lines and then shut off and the power light continues to blink. Is this under warranty? It is three years old.

Dont know about warranties but horizontal lines means your horizontal frequency which runs about everything has drifted off sync and if too high or low it will activate shut down circuits in high voltage and power suppy, even causing HOT transistor to short. good luck and call a tech.

Blinking power light & black screen on toshiba 57h81

This TV could have one of several problems including but not limited to; convergence IC's,bad capacitors, shorted horizontal output transistor. Call a good TV Tech. Check with the BBB before you decide on one.

TV turns off and power light blinks unpluged andd still does it.

Likely to be the STK convergence chips causing a protection circuit to switch the TV off. Have you got any onscreen convergence problems (i.e, colour fringes)?

No picture & the red power light just blinks

If it shuts off and then the power light starts blinking red or never turns on but the power light blinks red continuously that is usually indicative of the convergence ICs (STK 392-110). You never want to replace the ICs without also replacing the resistors that are associated with them. There are usually 6 resistors, one for each of the colors and there corresponding direction, IE Red horizontal, red vertical, blue horizontal, ect. In the case of this model tv all of the resistors are 2.2 Ohm and 2watts. You will find them right where the STK 392-110 ICs are. Right in front of them. They are blue and have this color code on them: Red, red, gold, gold. These are represented by stripes on the resistors. You can get the parts from www.bdent.com They carry the ICs and the resistors. If you do not feel comfortable completing this repair I could do it for you if you send me the board. My email address is: [email protected] The cost is 375.00 and that includes all parts.
Good Luck.

Sony Triniton Wega Model KV 32HS510. After pushing the power button, the tv starts to power up, then the standby light blinks 7 times then pauses before blinking 7 times again. It continues to do this,...

This is usually an indication of a failure in the scan amplifier sections. When the scan amplifiers or high voltage sections fail, the main power supply will usually also require servicing.

It is very common that the fly-back and high voltage multiplier and also the horizontal output stage fails in these sets. Along with it, the power supply will usually require to be serviced. On rare occasions, the vertical deflection amp fails.

Toshiba TN 50V71.

the start up or standby power is in need of troubleshooting. I would start by checking the regulator and horizontal output transistors.
