Hi guys , I have had my palm treo 680 for 3 years now ,it was working fine, last week I turned it off for the trip from a city to another , when i turned it back on I couldn't make calls, every thing else is working fine, messaging and receiving calls but when I try to call some one it dials for approxmately 3 sec then it goes back to the home screen without evening ringing. I will appreciate any help.
I do had a same problem after making a journey from one city to another i cant make a call , but i can recieved as well as send a message . when i dial #*377 its showing FATAL EXCEPTION , its means error occured , now the problem is i didnt carry my palm sofware , how can i solve this problem , pls help me out .Hi guys ,

I have same problem, palm support ask me do a hard reset, but to no avail.
Now, palm want to charge me on per call basis. I will not pay to solve palm problem.
Simply, i just buy a new iphone or samsung.

Same problem, but mine began, when I changed between one Sim (telcel) to other SIM (Movistar). Whith the second my phone works fine, but with the first carrier, all sims failed to make phone calls
I've solved my problem using bitsnbolts.com "backupMan" program,
I back up everything using my SD card, and then I did a hard reset, after that I restored my previous backup by indivudual files, (some of the archives couldn't be restored, but my contacts, memos, tasks, calendar were ok, and also my sms!)

First thing to check is to make sure that she has inserted a correct sim. If you don't know how to do this, download the manual from Palm.com. Next make sure that it is a 3G sim. I am a little ahead of myself. You did not say that the phone was a GMS phone. If it isn't, forget the sim description. Assuming it is a GSM phone and you inserted the correct sim in the sim slot, Then make sure that you have put it in the wireless mode. To do this, hold down the phone button to get the message that the phone is off. Ansewr with yes.Last thing, does the phone have the logo on the front. Be sure that the logo matches your carrier.
BACK UP your Treo 650 software and data BEFORE doing the following.
1. RESET the Treo 650 back to default set by holding power buttom following by reset the treo.
2. There is a way to reset the voltage regulator in the Treo ; believe
is by holding the RESET for > 3 seconds. Believe need to take out
the battery in out during this process. Can't recalled the correct
steps. This could could reset the Treo's power regulator.
3. TRY reinstall your palm software with minimun software or 3rd
parties one, this software could be running in the back ground which
drain the battery.
Try above steps might help.
Mine also got the same problem last two weeks, my treo could felt there
is kind warm sensation if it took out from my waist pouch after leaving
it for sometime on the table. BTW, the battery could felt quite warm
also.
If yours also behave the same which I believed the Treo got some kind
of contact problem which draw more power then usually does.
Now, mine got no more warm sensetion after carry out above steps. It
gets better as Compared to last two weeks ago BUT not that good as
compared previously when it can last 3~4 days after a full charge.
I was told by a sprint rep. that it could be due to a software program or virus on your phone. i.e. mp3s, pirated software. My brothers phone was just replaced due to this problem, although it is an LG phone not Palm. Same trouble with the no service.
