When i turn on my tv, it goes from flashing red to green for about 4 seconds and then it powers down and goes back to flahing red
Sounds like you need a new bulb, or possibly new lamp. The red/green flashing is the warm up to get the bulb ready. If it's shutting down after that, instead of turning on, it means the bulb isn't working - that's a common thing, for the bulb to burn out. Possibly the lamp's bad, but that's much less likely.
It won't power on a all after changing the bulb? As in, you aren't even getting the red/green light? That is odd. I'm not sure if a bad bulb could cause that, but it seems unlikely.
Remove the bulb and put it back in, just to be sure it is fully seated properly. Make sure nothing was knocked loose while you were replacing it (and as silly as it sounds, make sure you didn't accidentally unplug it). If you still have the old, non-working bulb, put it back in and see if you get the red/green lights back. If you do (assuming you're not getting those lights with the new bulb), it has to be a bad bulb you added (or possibly the wrong bulb for your unit).

We just changed the bulb. After we changed the bulb, it would never power on. HELP.
now if we hold the button down for 10 seconds it is staying red. but, if we just press power, it still flases green for 4 times, then goes to flashing red.
found problem.......inspection plate before bulb needs to be on so that tv will power on. thanks for all of the other advice.
