from your model type ch730 25 hp 0040 it seems that
this model does not need or use a smart spark ignition module
please check that you dont have a kill wire from your coil groundin somewhere between kill tab on your coil and the ignition switch
then if you still have no spark replace the ignition module
that has no spark - your engine has been running one 1 cyl
as soon you pulled the h t lead off the firing cyl the engine died
that tells you no fire on other side
i am sure these units do not use any diodes fitted between l/h and r/h kill wire tabs leading back to ignition switch , i think these are mainly on briggs vee twin
