Refrigerator side not cooling. Freezer side is fine?

Several weeks ago heard a rattle sound from fridge. Haven't heard since. Yesterday noted the refrigerator side of the side by side was warm. The freezer is still good. Looking at the circuit diagram noticed a test for the Baffle Module. I thought a quick fix would be to check the baffle door and when I manipulated it it popped off in my hand. No big deal, this would allow cold air to circulate from the freezer side. No real air movement but enough to keep it at 50 degrees. The freezer side is holding at 4 degrees.

Older refrigerators had a separate small fan/motor to circulate air from one side to the other. The circuit diagram for this Jenn-Air only shows the condenser and evaporator fan/motors. It appears the air circulation to the refrigerator side is being driven by the evaporator fan/motor.

If this is the case, I would like to know what the plan of attack should be. From the lower back or from inside the freezer compartment (I haven't unloaded all the frozen food to check for access to the evaporator coil and fan).

Where is the evaporator fan motor? My Freezer and fridge would quit cooling/freezing. I took the back panel off in the freezer a week ago and the evaporator coils were completely frozen over with ice. I...

I do not believe the problem is the fan. sounds like the frig. is low on Freon this is what will cause the ice build up. you need to find the leak, you can do this by spraying soapy water on coil tubes & watch for bubbles. repair leak & recharge.

Our refrigerator is not cooling at all. The freezer is working fine, but no cool air is getting to the refrigerator section. A couple of weeks ago, this problem happened after the freezer had started...

Some fridges only cool the freezer and an evaporator fan motor moves cool air from the freezer to the fridge side. If this fan doesn't spin very freely then it may need to be replaced. You should also pull out the fridge and see where the drain hose is connected to the inside of the fridge, try pouring hot water down the hose to see if it is open. It may be clogged with a pea or some food or frozen. If your fridge is really full, make sure there is nothing in front of where the evaporator fan blows air into the fridge. Make sure that the adjuster flap is open in the fridge section.

GE Profile - Fridge Doesn't Cool But Freezer Works Fine

Had a similar problem with my Kenwood Fridge Freezer
If you're mechanically minded you could check if there's an opening and motorised flap (usually behind a cover) at the top of the fridge - Cold air from the freezer enters the fridge through this flap) The Sound you heard could have been the motor trying to open / close this flap. This flap can become frozen in the closed position - so cold air is unable to enter the fridge compartment) My fix was to thaw it with a hairdryer and reassemble. Another fix would be to empty the freezer and open the doors - it might take more than 24 hours but once completely defrosted if the flap is the issue it will have defrosted. Once plugged in again the door will open and cold air will start to flow into the fridge compartment. I had a quote for €195 for a call out / repair
I fixed it myself in an hour - Hope it works for you ...

Maytag side by side slowly getting warmer

I have actually been having the same problem. We have a Maytag MTB2156GEQ and it hasn't been cooling well at all lately. Temp in the fridge is about 52 degrees even on the highest setting. The freezer seems to be fine. I pulled off the back panel and vacuumed out the condensor coil and everything else under there. I then pulled out the control panel on the ceiling of the fridge. The channel between the freezer and fridge was almost completely blocked with ice. I cleaned it out by taking out the back panel of the freezer and pouring hot water down through the hole until it was clear.
that seem fix the issue.
