Take it back for a full replacement, it sound like it has a few faults, why be stuck with it, you have the right to fair trading, which states your product must do wahta it should for a reasonable amount of time. Just out of box and faulting already is not reasonable!!! Hope you hace receipt.

My MP830 will not print. It shows error code 5C10 and makes a loud, quick repeating clanking noise. Any suggestions?

When the printer is not functioning properly it may need to be reset. Make sure that this code is not being generated from a paper jam. Consult your manual for all the ways to check for paper jammed in the printer. (You may not be able to see the paper jam).

Then try a reset as follows:

1) On the printer panel, press and hold the <On/Off> button for one second (the display will go blank). If it does not, unplug the power cord.

2) Wait approx. ten seconds. If unplugged, plug it back in. Otherwise, press the <On/Off> button again.

3) Wait for the machine to cycle through its startup routine before trying a print job.

A loud banging noise from inside - as it adjusts post printing

I'd check that there's nothing that's fallen into the rear paper feed that is now causing the rollers to jam and release with the bang you mention.

If you're feeling brave I'd try holding the printer upside down (get a friend to help you and watch out for the scanner sliding out!) and give it a bit of a shake to see if anything drops out.

Making a loud noise when the paper is feeding.

This is what the HP website says about noises in the 1610..
Unexpected Noises s.gif s.gif
Issue Unexpected noise (clicking, thumping, grinding, squealing, and so forth) from an HP all-in-one can be caused by a problem with the ink carriage or the scanner. Solution Follow the steps below in the order presented to determine the source and resolution for the noise. Step one: Checking the scanner This step applies only to products equipped with a flatbed scanner.
  1. Open the scanner cover.
  2. With the lid open, press the Start Copy button to make a copy. The scanner mechanism should move down the glass.
  3. If the scanner mechanism does not move and noise is present, contact HP. If the scanner mechanism moves without noise, continue with Step two below.
Step two: Checking for paper feed problems and carriage blocks Click here (buu03110) (in English) for more information on paper or carriage jams. Step three: Service the product If you have completed all the steps listed above and are still experiencing a problem, service the product. So it sounds like it needs to be serviced which could get expensive. I've looked all over the web for you & Keep finding the same answer. Sorry I can't come up with a better solution for you.

Canon PIXMA MP830 Error Message: Scanner is not operating correctly.

This problem sucks. It sounds like the scanner has actually gone bad. This can be a couple of things. The actual ccd unit inside the scanner, a position sensor, a motor or a wire harness.

The latter two are fairly unlikely, the first two more likely. Most probable is the CCD unit. I don't think Canon sells it as a separate piece, but it comes inside a replacement scanner assembly. These complete scanner units are expensive. You'll have to check with your local Canon shop to see what they cost.

Lexmark x7550 Printer, Scanner, Fax - Clicking Noise Question

top feeder for the scanner (on my x6570) had a loose piece of rubber stuck between the feed wheels. The rubber is part of the guiding mechanism that guides the paper to the feed wheels. Remove rubber strip and reattach it where it belongs.

Its clicking

Check and make sure that if you have something plugged into the fax/phone ports that it is installed correctly.  I had this noise when I accidentally put the usb cable into one of the ports.
