Question about Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate Edition
Everytime I restart my pc the windows gives an error that windows sidebar has stopped working & when I try to manually start it, then it gives the same error. I am using Windows Vista Ultimate SP-1 64bit..
Kindly provide me a solution as soon as possible..
Here is a solution I found when I was having problems and it worked like a gem..its a problem with two programs running a .dll file:
1. Open a command prompt by being Administrator (Right click on Command Prompt and click Run as Administrator)
2. CD to C:\Program Files\Windows Sidebar ( cd drive letter:\Program Files\Windows Sidebar )
3. Run these commands in this order:
1. regsvr32 -u sbdrop.dll
2. regsvr32 -u wlsrvc.dll
3. regsvr32 atl.dll
4. regsvr32 sbdrop.dll
5. regsvr32 wlsrvc.dll
Then start up the sidebar.
Good luck. If you have any questions let me know.

Click start, type SIDEBAR. In the menu, select the one for Windows
Properties. At the top is an option to always start that you may need to
You should have a spare copy of sidebar.exe in the Windows\winsxs folder. You'll need to search for Sidebar.exe to find it, as the folder names use GUIDs. Then copy it into Program Files\Windows Sidebar and see if that fixes things.
If nothing works please try, running System Restore to roll back to a point before the problem started. Hopefully that'll sort it out.
