SOURCE: goodman gas furnace power vent motor and housing replacement

You need to type GOODMAN GAS APPLIANCES into you browser to find you local servicecenter. I must tell you that Goodman only sells to authorized service companies in my experience. So you become EgKraft Company.

SOURCE: Goodman furnace GMPN080-4 Getting 4 RED blinks/Open Limit Swtch

You have a limit switch located in the furnace (a little bigger than a dime and located near the center of the front panel, sometimes the switch is mounted to a small fiberglass board) . There will be two wires going to it. They sometimes trip so often that they fail to automatically reset(due to dirty filters or undersized ductwork). You can SHUT OFF POWER TO THE FURNACE, then remove the two screws holding the switch in the furnace, pull the switch out of the furnace and tap on it and wipe it off.
The switch may work a few more times but should be replaced with the same size and type. You will see some rating printed on the switch somewhere. Write down all the numbers and get a replacemet from a furnace/AC supply house. If you have a meter and know how to use it you could check the switch for continuity.

Sometimes just a tap on the switch will get it going. There will also be a couple of rollout switches that could be tripped. They have little buttons on them to reset them. If they trip it may have other issues to be solved.
Hope this helps!

SOURCE: I'm considering installing a Goodman LP Gas Furnace:sizing? Ops?

Consider a variable output system like a Carrier 58MXA or an American Standard AUX unit. This way the unit will ramp up or down based upon the heat required. These units have two or three Btu outputs so they will modulate to find the right range. Yes they will cost more than the Goodman units but will save you gas dollars for many years to come. Goodman is a good Builders unit but look to fuel economy as prices of fuel increases. Right now your furnace is is using 60 Btu's per square foot. Are you located in Alaska? Here in Vermont if we figure 30 Btu's per square foot, that is one very drafty home. Ask to see their Manual J heat loss. If they say "What" time to move on to another heating contractor.

SOURCE: Have a Goodman GMT070-3B which the vent motor

The whole assembly must be replaced.

The sequence of operation is -

Combustion fan purges the heat exchanger. A pressure switch verifies combustion air fan is running. Usually a 30-45 second purge before the hot surface ignitor glows, or the spark ignition starts.

Gas valve opens after 10-15 seconds and main burners light. Control board monitors for flame and shuts gas valve after 2-3 seconds if main burner does not light.

If burner does not light, some boards repeat this for 3 tries, then locks out and is reset by cycling power.

Air blower comes on after another 30-45 seconds after main burner ignition.

Times may vary based on the specific controller board. A flow chart and timing sequence should be located somewhere on the unit, usually in the fan compartment.

Goodman gas furnace high limit switch

A volt/ohmmeter is only $3 at a place like Harbor Freight. Goodmans are known for overheating. Often the overheat switch is a one shot item that needs to be replaced every time it throws.
Think if it more like a fuse that melts.

I need the venting specifications for CAPF3030B6AA furnace that the city inspector is asking for. Do you now where i may get it?

Adhiinc, the model you posted is for an AC coil made by Goodman. You will need to post the Make and Model number for the air handler/furnace that this is connected too. You can find the model number if you remove the front panel and look on one of the sides for a label. Thanks and good luck!

Have a goodman lp gas furnace modelgmpn060-3 furnance starts up get main flame for about 5 seconds then shutsoff

i would start by checking the flame sensor ...if the unit is actually firing off just not staying lit sounds like a faulty or dirty flame sensor.... if you look inside at burner assembly there will be a metal rod ranging from 1 1/2 to 4 inches in length.... it ia in burner assembly and has (1) wire that connects to it and usually one 1/4 inch screw on it.... remove this and lightly /let me emphasize lightly sand it and clean it ...to much will actually damage it...re-install and see if it helps... this senses the flame and tells the control board to keep gas valve open most likely your culprit....good luck to you...

Model #GMPN100-4 Goodman furnace. Vent fan

The sequence of events for furnace operation is -

Fan purge for 30-45 seconds. During this time, a pressure switch is actuated by the running of the purge fan, proving the control board the purge fan is running.

After purge and purge prove, the hot surface ignition and or spark begins. After a few second delay, the gas valve will open. The control board then monitors for flame prove through another sensor located near the burners. If there is no flame within 3-5 seconds, the gas valve closes. It will repeat this process, usually 3 times, before it shuts the system down, which requires a power down of the system to reset.

I have seen trash get into the hose between the purge blower and the purge switch. But you could be having other problems.

Gerge, if you go to website www.energycodes.gov
you can do a heat load calc yourself. Basically, you figure out the sizes of walls, total area of glass. total doors to outside, ceiling area and types of building materials used. It is pretty easy and then you will know for sure. The contractor should be suppling you with one but if not use this, it is free!

Witch blower is running, the inducer or the systems blower?
System blower could mean the the high limit is opening and shutting down the systems gas train, I would check this out first.

The other problem could be with the pressure switch for the gas train, it is supplied from the inducer motor, check to see if it is operating fully.

HSI boards do go from time to time, this sounds more like a system control problem.
