Do you have a second cassette installed? If not, you have somehow activated the feature. Go into the menu and deactivate or turn off the second cass. feature. Owner's manual has instructions.

Error 321?

This error message indicates the transmission problem, perhaps the incoming or outgoing telephone signal is down or not properly functioning, if possible, try to check the connection and set the speed to lower level. Try sending a fax to another machine and check, if the same problem occurs or not.

Good luck.

Incoming faxes always go over to a 2nd page - just a small amount - but it waste that next sheet - how can I make it fit better - or shrink the page 5% to fit better? Dean

Printing a Reduced Incoming Document
Your machine can reduce the size of an incoming fax to fit the size of the paper
in your machine. Select ON to turn on this feature.
After you connect Cassette #2, you can turn on Automatic Reduction for each
cassette. (See Turning on Cassette #2 (Option for FAX-4100 and FAX-4750e), Page
4-1)
1 Press Menu, 2, 1, 5.
2 If you have the optional Cassette #2,
press or to select CASSETTE #1
or CASSETTE #2, and then press Set.
3 Use or to select ON (or OFF), and
then press Set.
4 Press Stop/Exit.
If you send faxes from a computer on the same phone line and your Brother
machine intercepts them, set Easy Receive to OFF.
Cassette #2 can be purchased.

Incoming faxes are not received

1. Make sure you have paper in the feeder tray.2. Make sure that Fax Forwarding is not selected: Use the up/down arrow buttons to scroll through the menuoptions until you see the option required, and press the "check mark" button to select:
Select "Fax" on the device main menu. Select "Fax Setup" from the Fax submenu, Select "Ringing and Answering" from the Fax Setup submenu Now find the "Fax Forward" option. Once you see this option, press the left or right arrow buttons until you see "Off". Now press the "Enter" button to save.
Let me know if this doesn't solve your problem, and include further detail to the problem if available.
