My problem with the X7350 is the scan featur. I use this printer at work to scan multiple documents into 1 document with the automatic document feeder and need to have it attached to email automatically as a PDF file. I can't seem to be able to adjust the settings correctly and/or they never save as such and I have to go back and adjust things every time I scan something. Another issue is the size of the scanned doc. If I have 20 or more pages, which is mostly the case, the size of the document is in excess of 80 MB. I tried using the 72 DPI setting but even on that one it is more than 30 MB.
Does anyone know what I can do? I just got this thing and I'm already thinking about returning it and getting an HP.
Well you are able to scan multiple documents.. but the file size is more.. the way lexmark software writes the pdf file.. the file will be huge for PDF... but not sure if this is a case with any other all in one manufacturer like HP also... but i would assume it would be the same..
so scan the file to MS WORD or any other application that supports multiple pages... so u have it as one file... but if u want only pdf files, then u have to do a little work around like writing the MS WORD Document to pdf format. If the PDF Writer is not installed with your copy of MSWORD then try any free pdf writer software available on the internet.

Make sure the Lexmark OCR scan software is installed on your computer. The software is available in the install disc that came with your printer. Scanning a document: 1 Make sure the printer is connected to a computer, and both the printer and the computer are on. 2 Load an original document faceup into the ADF or facedown on the scanner glass. 3 Press Scan Mode. 4 Press or repeatedly until the destination to which you want to scan appears. 5 Press Start Color or Start Black. 6 To scan multiple pages from the scanner glass, place successive pages face down on the scanner glass and press Start Color or Start Black.
Hi, It sounds as though you have managed to set the scanner to automatically break up originals.
In your scanner driver (I'm not with one at the moment so I'm working from memory) locate the button that says 'Advanced'. When the new window appears look for a button that says 'Reset' or 'Default'
It may be a menu item, I'm not sure.
Many scanners can be set to do multiple scans. this is usually indicated by a number of faint rectangles showing in different places in the preview scan. You just have to find the button that turns that feature off.
You will need to plug the printer andcomputer together with a USB cable in order to use the printer's scanningcapabilities. The scanning unit on theMX310 features an automatic document feeder on top of the printer, which willscan multiple pages itself. You can also choose to load documents on thescanning glass, which is covered by the scanner's lid. This is how to do it.
1.Turn on the printer by pressingthe "Power" button until it illuminates and turn on the attachedcomputer. Wait for the printer to finish its initialization process beforecontinuing.
2.Place the document face up inthe automatic document feeder if the document's papers are uniform in andfit in the feed tray. Adjust the paper-width guide to the of thedocument's papers.
3.Place the first page of thedocument face down on the scanning glass after you have lifted the scanningunit's cover, if you choose to not use the automatic document feeder. Close thecover again slowly so the document does not shift on the glass.
4.Press the "Scan"button on the printer's control panel, then press either "Black" or"Color," depending on the type of scan you would like to perform.
5.Retrieve the scanned documentfrom the automatic document feeder's output tray once the scan job is over.Otherwise, click on the "Yes" button on the computer's screen, indicating you would like to scan another page.
6.Lift the scanning unit's cover, remove the document from the scanning glass and place the next page of thedocument face down on the glass. Close the scanner's cover and click on the"OK" button on the screen to scan the next page. Repeat this processuntil all of the document's pages have been scanned.
To scan more than one page at a time you can use ADF.
The Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) can scan multiple pages, including duplex pages. When using the ADF:
* Load the document into the ADF faceup, short edge first.
* Load up to 50 sheets of plain paper into the ADF input tray.
*Scan sizes from 148 x 210 mm (5.8 x 8.3 in.) to 215.9 to 355.6mm (8.5 x 14 in.).
* Scan documents with mixed page sizes (letter and legal).
*Scan media weights from 52 to 120 g/m2 (14 to 32 lb ).
* Do not load post cards, photos, small items, transparency, photo paper or the thin media (such as magazine clippings) into the ADF. Place these items on the scanner glass.
Hope this helps. Please rate my response.
Have a good day.
What do you mean scan? Is it from the printer to the computer? Or just plain copy? When you want to scan to the computer, you need a software that can scan multiple pages. HP's document feeder can copy and fax multiple pages, so if the software supports multiple pages scanning, then I'm sure it can.
