Testimonial: "I'm going to guess it overheated. The machine doesn't have more than three hours on it and its only been run for 30~45 minutes at a time. No water leaks and no water in pump oil. However when I changed the pump oil it was black. How do you prevent one from overheating? If I'd been running this thing for hours I could understand, but 30 minutes and it blows the pump? Thanks a million for your help!"

SOURCE: Help! i have a pacific hydrostar 65078. Engine

You have to have a clogged hose gun. Try blowing it out with air. Also, Harbor Freight sells the Pacific-Hydrostar and you can buy a 2 year full warranty for around $70 bucks. A small price to pay if you use your powerwasher on a frequent basis. If anything goes wrong, regardless of what the cause, they simply replace the washer.Hope this helps.

SOURCE: How full and with what oil to fill pump vent.

Any pressure washer pump should be no more than half full. The reason is if you fill it completely up when the piston strokes it will blow the seals out of the pump. Usually there is a sight gage on the side of the pump. I will look your model up and see what I can find as far as quantity for the pump. I won't be too long just read the 2nd response and please do not rate this one. I will get back to you ASAP.

SOURCE: Pacific Hydrostar 95618. pump oil?

37d1355.jpg

Pacific Hydrostar is another pacific rim product that has no website, and no manuals online, and nobody to contact, and no parts available. These machines must be made for the throw-away user.

Pump oil comes about half way up inside pump housing > pump oil is 20 or 30 weight non-detergent oil SAE20 SAE 30
Engine oil comes half way up dip stick > engine oil 10W30

Do not turn power washer on its side or upside down when draining oil, or engine oil will go into carburetor and machine will not start

If your pump has no drain plug. If like the second video seems like you could turn upside like I do my lawn mower or remove the four bolts and spin pump upside down.'
That is if your pump is like the one in the video.

I have a Pacific Hydrostar pressure washer model 67546. I have lost the dipstick cap for the pump. Can I operate the pressure washer without the dipstick cap in place?

No, you have to have it plugged or the pump oil will shoot out. I have a similar problem and can't find that part anywhere. They want to sale you a whole new upgraded pump for around $200. If you have original pump the oil fill is about 3/4 way up the tube, then you need to find some way to block, close off the tube opining where the dipstick would go.

How much oil does a pacific hydrostar in the pump their is no site glass pump 95618

There is no oil in this pump. When storing it long term , put some automotive antifreeze in it. Disconnect the water hose and tip the unit on its face to drain water out of the inlet fitting for short term non freezing times.

I need to change the pump on my pacific hydrostar 2800

That cannot be done over the internet, no matter what ISP you have.

Further, you need to be more-specific about exactly what you have.

Pacific Hydrostar makes both sump pumps and pressure washers with 2800 ratings (gallons per hour and PSI, respectively). So you should use the model number of your device, not what the large print on its decals say, when requesting help with them.

Pump oil change, how much oil

There should be a drain plug (bolt) at the bottom of the pump to drain the oil. Undo bolt and drain the oil. Replace bolt and fill pump with new oil. Look for a sightglass on the side of the pump. Fill so the oil level is in the centre of sightglass.
