    Hello Geekman,

I have the screen saver set to come on after 5 minutes of inactivity. I also have the monitor to shut off after 1 hour and that does not happen either. Disk drives are set to never go off.

    Thank you for your help.

Is this your private computer or it belongs to your office?

The question may sound funny to you but it has a reason.

(Companies have security policies at times that do not allow you to have personalized setting on the computer. They use mandatory profiles to restrict changes.)

    So please answer.

Several things can interfere with the operation of a screen saver. Usually it is a process of elimintaion as to what is preventing it from working.
Start, RUN, MSCONFIG <enter> will open the system configuration utility. Disable the startup group, reboot, see if issue still occurs.
If screen saver then works, you can go back and add items to the startup group until you ID the item causing the issue.
If disabling startup has no effect, go to the services tab of MSCONFIG, check HIDE ALL Microsoft services, then disable the remaining ones and follow the same process

On Windows XP laptop. can't use Desktop Display options

There is option in display properties (can't remember the exact tab at the moment) that allows you to use a web link associated with your background, uncheck that and the issue should resolve (I think the url link associated is now invalid)

When you up the computer press F8 key then enter in enable vga mode.
Then go to control panel ->Display-> Settings
Then change screen resolution to 1024*768 then apply and ok.
Then check .
If still same issue then uninstall graphic driver and install again then it works.

No signal from Optoma DLP Proj ExPro730 & Dell Inspiron 6000

Referencing a Dell Inspiron 6000 Laptop and a Optoma DLP Projector ExPro 730. Hook up all of the necessary ables and such. Turn both the Laptop and the Projector on. Once the Laptop is booted up, go to the Control Panel and double click on the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator Driver Icon and then click on the Multiple Display and then click on APPLY! Thats it ......... and it works like a charm.

Hi, my screensaver acer aspire one doesn't work. can you help ?

To set up your screensaver, right click on your desktop and choose Properties. Choose the Screen Saver tab. In the drop down menu for Screen saver, make sure something is selected instead of (None). Next click the Preview and it will give you a glimpse of what the screensaver you chose will look like. Move the mouse to get out of it and select apply if you like that one or choose a different one.

Your PC is not completing bootup. It's not the display, it's Windows.

Try booting to Safe Mode (F8) and running System Restore to a time before the issue cropped up. That should get the PC running again.
