Question about NetGear R6300 WiFi Router
SOURCE: not able to telnet to my home router (netgear WGR614V9)
You have to have telnet access enabled for all earlier revisions of wgr614. See : http://www.seattlewireless.net/index.cgi/NetgearWGR614#UnlockingtheTelnetCosole but bear in mind that v9 is not known officially to have a telnet CLI.

You need to configure the Netgear wireless router first.
Connect a LAN cable from the Netgear to the LAN port on your computer, open a browser and enter the Netgear configuration URL -
http://192.168.0.1
The default login = admin
The default PW = password You can now change the default admin password and configure the wireless settings.
Go to the wireless configuration and set up the SSID and WPA or WPA2 encryption to protect your wireless network and Internet from unauthorized access.
Now apply these settings to the wireless card in your laptop/computer.
