Tv comes on and goes right back off

That's a good question, how come? No way I can help without the model and make

the relay is the safety protective device..sometimes a defective component or something. maybe an overloaded power supply might caused this problem..so before any thing could gets worst..the relay will shut the unit..

TV needs lamp replacement as existing lamp got weak or has been reached to end of its working life, please note that lamp is not dead or broken so that is why lamp lit is not lit at tv front.

This problems the FBT-the Flyback Transformer have cold solders.Must resolders the FBT.The right side wall of the FBT-the "H" horizontal transistor,must be also resolder too.

your high voltage protect circuit is working properly.
take the tv to a tv shop to have them find out the reason for excessive high voltage. Your tv is protecting you from a possible fire.

definitely, something wrong with it. TV shouldn't take more then a few seconds to start, I suggest, while it still under warranty, give Sharp a call to get it fixed.

This type of failure is common on these TVs. The power supply might need to be replaced due to bulging capacitors. If you are able to replaced the capacitors, it is a cheaper alternative.
