I have a Nokia 1100. I have 3 speed dials set up but cannot seem to set up a 4th one. When I go to Menu-Contacts-Speed Dials-Select, scroll to Key 4(empty), press Assign-Assign to Call I get an error. "Selected memory empty" and it will not let me enter a number or select anyone from my contact list to assign. It kicks me back to the main menu. How frustrating!! SMS produces the same result. "selected memory empty" and kicks you back to main menu.
I have checked and the speed dial option is turned on. Any ideas?
I do not know how to restore the factory settings or get new software. I am afraid of messing up my settings. A 7731 phone will function on any one of 18 or so different Panasonic system cabinets. Now, which "user guide" are you looking at? SYSTEM speed dial is set from the first extension or the maintanance console of the phone system. PERSONAL FEATURE (speed dials on the right side of the phone) are pretty much universally programmed by PROGRAM button, 9+ number STORE.
Hello, from the Switcboard / Main telephone ( usually ext 101, 10 or 9 ) with the handset on the cradle press Program * # followed by the system password ( default is 1234). Now press 001 and then SP-PHONE. Enter the system speeddial location ( 00 to 99 ) or just press SP-PHONE again to go to 00. Now enter your line access number ( usually 0 or 9 ) followed by the telephone number you would like to assign for the speeddial. Now press AUTO DIAL / STORE to save your setting. To go to the next speeddial location press SP-PHONE and follow the above steps again. Press Program to exit program mode. To dial the system speeddial from any extesion lift the handset and press * followed by the speeddial location ( example 00 ) PLEASE rate this answer if it was helpful. Thank you.
Not knowing the specific model of the phone system itself (the PBX cabinet in the telephone closet) I would guess you are using the "personal directory" and it only has 10 number memory and it goes from 0-9. The system directory will give you more mems.
Just figured this out (though a lot of people seem to have tried giving an answer without seeing if it works.
Setting speed dial numbers doesn't allow you to choose one for the voice mailbox. Go to Messages -> Voice Mailbox Number (option 12). There you can change the number.
Press Menu, select Contacts and Speed dials. Select the key you want,
( to ) and press Assign. Select whether you want to assign to call or to
SMS. Select the name you want and press Select.
After the phone number has been assigned to a number key, you can speed dial
the number in the following ways:
• Press the corresponding number key and then press Call, or
• If Speed dialling is set to "on", press and hold the corresponding number key
until the call is started
I do not know how to restore the factory settings or get new software. I am afraid of messing up my settings. Would I have to take it to a dealer or how would I restore and get new software?
