I have a Nokia 1100. I have 3 speed dials set up but cannot seem to set up a 4th one. When I go to Menu-Contacts-Speed Dials-Select, scroll to Key 4(empty), press Assign-Assign to Call I get an error. "Selected memory empty" and it will not let me enter a number or select anyone from my contact list to assign. It kicks me back to the main menu. How frustrating!! SMS produces the same result. "selected memory empty" and kicks you back to main menu.
I have checked and the speed dial option is turned on. Any ideas?

Depending on your phone version, you will be able to access speed dials in the contacts menu of your phone. If it is anything like mine when you press the menu button contacts is the first one up. Select Assign or, if a number has already been assigned to the key, select Options > Change. Select Find and the contact you want to assign. If the Speed dialing function is off, the phone asks whether you want to activate it
