Why is my Frigidaire dehumidifier leaking water from the bottom of the unit?

Hi friend, thank you for your post!

I have identified that a few possibilities to why water is leaking from the bottom of your dehumidifier could be a crack inside your bucket or condensation from the bucket. I would remove your bucket and look it over to see if you can locate any visible cracks or chips. How much water is leaking from your dehumidifier? If you can provide any further information I look forward to assisting you. -Matt

Unit is not collecting water and carpet is wet

Unplug it and let it dry out. Place it on old newspaper and start. Check the paper and look for the wet spot. That will let you know where the water is coming out of the unit. Check that area, it is probably a bad seal on the drain or a crack in the water container.

The water doesn't drain through the site to which I attached the hose. Instead it drains through a quarter inch hole (which appears to be a manufaactured hole, not a crack or break)to the right of...

It sounds like the unit should have came with a plug for the hole. You can probably obtain a plug from a home improvement or hardware store or even improvise one yourself. Also, make sure the unit is pitched so that the water actually runs towards the hose.

I have the 25 pint unit and it leaks underneath the bucket. Water does get pulled into the bucket but when running water leaks out at the bottom and puddles on the floor. The bucket has been checked for...

If the unit is leaking under the bucket and you haven't been able to find a crack or hole in the bucket. The bucket may not be properly inserted in to the dehumidifier. Remove the bucket, empty it and reinsert it into the unit making sure that it fits in squarely (Top to Bottom).

If the above doesn't correct the problem, the drain tube to the bucket may be partially clogged. To check this, you will need an 18" long, plastic Zip Tie or something similar. But NO wire coat hangers. Turn the Master ON/OFF Switch to OFF and unplug the unit. Remove the bucket and you will see a drain hole or tube at the top of bucket cavity. Carefully insert the Zip Tie and continue to push it in unitl you reach the bend in the tubing. You will need to gingerly work it past this bend, until it either bottoms out or you run out of usable Zip Tie. Now, slowly remove the Zip Tie while rotating (twisting) it. As you reach the end of the Zip Tie be prepared for some water to follow.

Hope this helps you troubleshoot and solve the problem. Please let me know. Thanks.

Reservoir/tank leaks. There is a crack on the bottom. I would like to repair or replace the tank. I have had no luck finding a replacement tank. Thank you!

Fedders made your humidifier for Maytag. So, I searched my usual reliable parts sites and all of them said the same thing "No longer available". That was the case in searching for it as Maytag and Fedders. So, repairing the tank is you only option, for now.

I have a lg lhd45elt8 dehumidifier i bought used i want to hook up the hose connection i see on the back a plastic chip that needs to be removed and the hose pipe is just inserted? then connect a drain...

I own this dehumidifier. To connect it to a garden hose for drainage you first need the special connector pipe/adapter that comes with the unit. It's white plastic and about a foot long, It may be stored in the top of the bucket drawer, where it ships from the factory. Your hose connects to the threaded fitting on one end. The other end is inserted into the hole in the back of the unit. You slide it straight in until it mates with a drain connection inside the unit. You can see this black pipe connection if you pull the bucket drawer all the way out and look in the very top right hand corner of the opening of the unit. Once the white tube is fully and correctly inserted you'll find two plastic tabs on the tube near the hose connection. The larger tab points straight up and blocks the tube from being inserted too far. The smaller tab points down and hooks into the slot in the bottom of the round opening to keep it from getting knocked loose. Your dehumidifier should now drain through the hose instead of into the bucket. Of course, be sure your hose is routed across a floor to a drain or sump pump located lower than the unit, since the water flows by gravity.

No water collecting, unit running

the collector base under the tubes just collects water and drips it through a hole into the water bucket. there must be a loose hose(if it has one) or the base collector or bucket has a crack, as they usually are plastic. also if the unit is sitting on a very uneven floor this will happen
