D900 samsung keypad not workin

My d900 samsung mobile phone is not working properly, its keypad is not responding, am not able to dial ,take calls ..but i can switch on and off the mobile..please helpp...i brought this mob from dubai

i had this problem while at a holiday on the beach....i am worried if i would lose my contact numbers as they are saved on the mobile.

Problem with your phone arises from contact with water or extreme humidity.there are components called varistors that protects cpu from electrostatic discharge,and they are faulty.try to put a phone in a warm place,hopefully it will get dryed out and work again.other solution is to disasemble your phone and remove those faulty components

The steps are outlined in the article below:

D900 FAQ – How do I disable or mute the keypad tone on my SGH-D900? admin ⋅ March 6, 2009 --> Note: In order to disable the keypad tone, the Dialing Display Font Type must first be set to “Normal”
To change the dialing display font type follow the steps below:

From the standby screen, press the left soft key for Menu
Select Settings (9)
Select Display Settings (3)
Select Dialing Display (6)
Select Font Type (1)
Highlight either Normal or Theme, using the navigation keys
Press the left soft key to Save the Dialing Display Font Type setting

To turn off the keypad tone follow the steps below:

From the standby screen, press the left soft key for Menu
Select Settings (9)
Select Sound Settings (4)
Select Keypad Tone (2)
Highlight Off, using the up navigation key
Press the left soft key to Save the Keypad Tone setting

Password problem- SGH-M120

If you have forgot your password, then flashing the ROM memory of your mobile in a mobile service center is the only way. Before that try with the default password of your phone. Refer your phone manual for it. Try 0000/00000/12345/1234/1111/11111 (any one of this may be default)

Samsung d900 buttons are not working

I suspect sand has got inside the phone and has got underneath the keypad contacts. You will need to take the phone apart and see if any sand comes out. So long as it didnt get wet the circuit should be working correctly.

Keypad freeze

Did the key pad froze before you took the battery off? If so, it mean the keypad is damaged. If you have insurance, you may call customer service and have it replaced for a new one.

If it frozed after you shoot it off, you might call customer service from another phone and they might help you to unlock your phone.

SAMSUNG SLIDE SHUT/LOCK

If it's the SGH-D900i phone that you have... Go to Menu... Settings.... Phone settings... Slide Settings... in there you have to change the "Down" from 'Continue operation' to 'stop operation'... save and slide the phone shut, that should once again lock the keypad.
