I was given a Jensen LXA300 from a friend, i bought a install kit from Walmart, and now its not working, i have 12V running through it, but no audio output, Nor do any of the lights have power, the power light, the protect light, and the Jensen on the top...it was in a sealed tool box for a couple of months, and was kept dry the entire time, worked when it was put in the tool box....maybe something came loose? i have someone who can fix it for me, but i dont know where any schematics might be...please help, i just bought a woofer, and dont want to have to spend more money...Thanks!
Well the "turn on" is just that - a relay inside the amplifier that allows the 12V Main to connect with the power supply on the inside of the amp.
hook up the remote turn on wire to a switched ignition source, and your amplifier will turn on.
If you are looking to TEST the amplifier - you can temporarily Jumper the remote terminal and the + terminal to get the amplifier ON - however when you instal it - you will want to put it on a switched power source so it goes on and off with the car.
If you need more help - im here.

The remote wire goes on the amplifier terminal that says rem, remote, sw, or similar. It is normally located between the ground and power terminal on the amplifier.

What radio do you have?
You need a switched power supply dedicated to amplifiers (always powered when the radio is on).
If you use the power antenna for a remote on some models.... when you go off AM/FM (to CD or AUX for example)... the signal is dropped (sending the antenna down) and the amplifier will turn off.
Reply with the model of radio, and make/model/year of car and i can give you options for your remote signal.
No, dont use the ignition wire as your remote lead. The current draw exceeds the fuse size, and you could possible damage your ignition and radio.
Dual radios (from what i can recall) have only one blue wire correct?
This lead should be used for your amplifier.
If it has a seperate antenna wire - it will be blue/white
If there is only 1 blue - then it is good to use.
Withuot the specific model # i cannot check for you.

I did not wire it for remote turn on yet,
However while connected directly to the battery, and properly grounded, it is getting 12V.
The RCA's are connected, and i have no audio output.
I have an In-Line fuse wired in, but was not sure what fuse size to use, so when i tested it, i wired it direct to the battery.
The amp itself has a fuse on it, which is currently good.
And i measured 12V on a DMM at the power terminal.
So, what you are saying is it will not power on until i hook it up to a switched iginition source....for example, a power antennea line? and where do i wire it in on the amp? Thanks....
ok, today ill go ahead and see if it powers on when hooked up, thanks for the help!! if it doesnt work, i know where to go, lol right back to ya!
have a good one.
and just to clarify, the ignition wire for the radio, or the power antenna line will work?
Its a Dual Electronics Radio, i am not sure of the model number, but it has a 7" LCD touch screen...its like 2 models old....
the car is a 1996 Dodge Stratus 2.4L
for the amp, you cant just run it off the ignition switch for the radio?
the radio has a 12V always hot, and a ignition switch...
okay great, ill go ahead and try that now, if i need anything more, ill let ya know....Thanks so much for all the help!!
do you have a remote turn on wire connected?
is it giving 12V when you turn on the car?
are there RCAs connected?
did you put the fuse in the power wire fuseholder?
Did you MEASURE 12V at the power terminal of the amplifier?
Is the ground solid to metal- and not paint?
