The LCD on my Mintek 1710 portable player no longer shows a picture. The sound works, and the picture shows on the TV when it's plugged in to the AV ports. If I look closely at the dark screen, I can see the Mintek logo come up when the unit powers on, but there's no light to make it, or the movie itself, visible. The only suggestion in the owner's manual is that there may be condensation on the lens, and to leave the unit on for a couple of hours to evaporate the moisture. I've watched several movies through the TV since this problem started, so heating the mechanism isn't the solution. Any suggestions? Thanks.
The LCD backlight has died. If it is still under warranty you may want to contact Mintek and see what they can offer you.
