Yes I have the same camera and it has started having the same problem just a couple of days ago..so aggrivating to have to set the date & time just to take a pic. I contacted Polaroid tech assistance and they had no answers... we tried the batteries, SD card and nothing.... I told them it had just started this .

Exactly the same problem, thought it might be cause the memory card was full so bought a new memory card, has anyone tried to get a refund replacement from polaroid?

Yeah, I'm having the same problem. I can't make the date and time stay set. Is there a way to turn that feature off?

My camera will not turn on either. I have only used it a couple of times. This is my first time to buy a polariod. I hope we have a solution for this problem. It seems as thought many others are having the same problem, and no one is doing anything to help. Please reply with some sort of solution besides taking it to a pc store. I just bought this, I don't have a receipt, so what is the answer? Thankyou!

DATE RESET PROBLEM ON DIGITAL CAMERA

Have you encounter on your camera that the TIME and DATE are always cleared once you turning ON? Menu of the date setting appears everytime inserting the battery and turing the power ON?

Dont worry the problem of your camera is only a minor. For your technical information, all cameras have a capacitor together with board that provide power to save your date setting or its work as a battery.

Once you open you camera and you found out color green stain can be seen in the part of the said capacitor. You need to clean first by brush and make it sure be gently while brushing the capacitor just to remove the stain. Then try to turn On your camera and set the date and time, after this turn off and remove the battery for a second. Once again put the battery on your camera and turn On. Once you need to set the date again it means the capacitor was damage and need to replce new.

if you have knowledge about repairing electronics what you need to do is remove the damage capacitor and replace it new with the same specifiction and size.

I hope my tips will help you

Good luck and thank you

Camera keeps loosing the time and date settings. When turning the camera on the lens does not open, then a screen asking to set the date and time settings appears - once date reset the camera works...

have you check the settings for time and date have you saved it? You can also try to remove the cam battry for 2 mins. then put it back in then turn on the camera and then after few secs. turn it off, then see if the issue persist.

Reset Date and time

Hi,

yes its possible. Please remove the internal battery once and then put it inside after few minutes. This will reset the date time. while you switch it on once again. it will prompt you to enter new date and time.

Time and date resetting constantly...

This camera has a separate date battery. Lift up the small rectangular cover next to the main batteries. A small CR1220 battery maintains the date. Replace it and you should be OK. I just discovered this on the Canon web site.

I have to set the date/time every time I turn on my Canon A720. Once I've set the date/time, it stays set until I turn the camera off.

YOUR PROBLEM SHOULD BE OVER! ON THE BOTTOM OF YOUR CAMERA IN THE COMPARTMENT WHERE THE TWO BATTERIES GO IS A SMALL DOOR. THIS IS THE CLOCK BATTERY DOOR! YOUR CLOCK BATTERY MUST BE DEAD OR MOSTLY DEAD. AT LEAST IT IS WORTH CHECKING OUT. THIS IS THE MOST LIKELY CAUSE OF TIME DATE FAILURE BECAUSE IT WILL RUN WITH THE MAIN BATTERY POWER WHEN THE CAMERA IS ON, BUT WHEN YOU TURN IT OFF, THIS SMALL BATTERY IS SUPPOSED TO KEEP THE TIME, DATE CURRENT IN THE OFF MODE AND IT IS DOING IT! CHECK IT OUT AND SEE IF THIS DOESN'T SOLVE YOUR PROBLEM. GOOD LUCK! HOPE THIS WORKS FOR YOU!!

Date and time will not stay set

Have you changed the CR2016 clock battery? See the picture and sentence at the bottom of the following webpage:

It's a common battery, available just about anyplace that sells batteries.

Date time setting does not program

There is not an option to remember the date/time when you power off the camera. The camera should always remember the time. If it forgets the setting when you power it off then your backup battery has gone dead. Check your manual to see if it is something you can replace yourself. I am not familiar with this camera specifically but some cameras make the backup battery accessible and some require disassembly. David Millier Advance Camera Repair
