Motherboard / fans/ soundcard dead or not properly functioning. had a gateway & it crashed(550mhz intel 3). A friend gave me an emachines T-2642 with good parts. Used Some gateway parts & got it working. It powers on when u plug it in/wont shut off/ no sound or video. Power supply & fan works/disk drives -floppy & hard drives all power up. just no sound video & internal processor fans not working!! HELP!!

Dear Sir,

Im using Foxconn 45CMX motherboard desktop. Early it had sound and lastweek I formated the machine, and I install the motherboad drivers from the driver CD too. But sond is not working. I would like to know ahy is that?

Unless you have problems, your power-supply is totally adequate.
Probably, even a 300W power-supply would be sufficient
(one DVD-ROM, one disk-drive, one video-card).

Intel D865GVHZ (Gateway Hazelton) motherboard system cooling fan
This fan error message shows up when the CPU fan is not plugged into the CPU FAN plug on the motherboard. The Intel D865GVHZ
motherboard has a total of 4-fan plugs so it is easy to plug the CPU fan into one of the other fan plugs that is not marked CPU FAN on the motherboard.

you can install a PCI vedio card to enhance video quality. a 128mb will do the thing. The integrated sound card you have is good enough, to maximise the sound install good quality speakers with subwooper or boosters
