It could be a motor or a pump issue. The dishwasher has a motor that attached to a pump which forces the water up into the sprayer arms and during the drain cycle, it pushes the water out of the dishwasher. The motor (and pump) located beneath the dishwasher. Check if motor spins. In case it spins, the problem is with the pump ,in case it doesn't spin it could be a motor problem or a motor and pump problem. Good luck

How to repair or fix a Dishwasher if it doesn't wash well

A common cause of poor washing results is improper loading—dishes that block or impede the spray arm(s) or prevent the soap dispenser from opening. On the other hand, if your dishwasher has chronic problems with good washing, the problem may not be your dishwasher. A good first step is vary the amount of dishwasher detergent you're using and try switching brands.

Other possibilities: Your home’s water pressure may be too low, your water may be too hard, or the water temperature may not be hot enough.
In order for your dishwasher to fill to the appropriate level, water pressure should be from 20–120 pounds per square inch. If you suspect that your water pressure may be low, turn off all faucets or other users of water (such as washing machines and sprinklers) and then put a half-gallon jug under the kitchen faucet. Turn on the hot water full-blast. If the jug doesn’t fill within 14 seconds, your water pressure may be too low for proper dishwasher operation. Call your city water utility to discuss your options, or avoid drawing water elsewhere in the house or yard during dishwasher cycles.
The right amount of detergent to use depends on how large your load of dishes is and how hard your water is. Hardness is measured in grains of minerals—the more grains per gallon you have, the more detergent you’ll need. If your water has 12 grains or more of hardness, fill both dishwasher soap cups completely with detergent. If that doesn’t work, consider installing a water softener.
To check water temperature, hold a meat thermometer under the hot water faucet for two minutes; if it doesn’t register a minimum of 140 degrees F., turn up the temperature dial on your hot water heater. (However, if you have a newer dishwasher that heats the water internally, it isn’t necessary to turn up your hot water heater.)
If your dishwasher has worked fine in the past but suddenly your dishes aren’t clean after the dishwasher completes all cycles, listen to the spray arm(s) spinning inside during the wash cycle. If spinning poorly, wait for the machine to cool down, remove the spray arm(s) by unscrewing the hubcap(s), lifting the arm(s) off, and then cleaning out the spray holes in the spray arm(s) with a stiff piece of wire.

I have a Bosch SHU3036UC dishwasher. While sitting idle - during the day or over night, it fills up with fresh water. I shut off the water supply last night and this morning it was dry. Any ideas?

Hi,when starting the machine on normal wash the filling of the machine starts and stops with the machine ending up over filling, when i put program onto spin it goes through the motions but does not...

If it's over filled it won't spin.

The fault is most likely either with the water level sensor or with the filling solenoid. Both are cheap parts but note the caveat of "most likely". If you buy and fit the parts with no improvement you cannot return them, but a Bosch repair agent can try them and remove them if they're not the cause. The worst case is a failed pcb, but repairing your machine will still be cheaper than replacing it. Barring occasional faults, Bosch washing machines last longer than average.

Washer won't advance from cycle to cycle

When the cycle doesn't advance, it's probably the timer or a cold-water supply problem:

* It's the timer, if your washing machine fills with water and begins agitating, but the timer never
advances--or if the washer is in a spin cycle and the timer won't advance. Then you need to replace
the timer.

* It may be a cold-water supply problem, if the washing machine fills with water, agitates,
drains, and spins, but then doesn't fill with rinse water. See There's no cold water.

Fills but does not wash

Hi!
That happens when for some reason any of the two drain/spin cycles are interrupted. Try this:
have the washer empty, then set the machine to run the last cycle to the end of it, when you usually
lift the cover to take out the clothes, that ought to do it, I had the same problem when diagnosing a
timer problem.

Dishwasher not washing

By chance have you cleaned the spray arm out lately? There could be something blogging the water from getting into the arm. In most dishwashers, the arm only spins because water pressure makes it spin.
