I lose the sound on my 1 year old SHARP aquos Lc-42D62U tv??
My 1 and a half year old Sharp aquos tv loses its sound out of the blue occasionally. This happens at least 4 times a week.
No setting in the audio menu seems to get it back on, even resetting to factory settings. Sometimes it comes back when I unplug & replus the power cord....other times this does not work! Funny thing is there is no sound in the surround home theatre speakers either when it's off on the tv.
It ends up coming come a few minutes to a few hours later, no idea how or why.
I am a lady with next to NO experience with electronics, just logic & can't find any in this case!

The set should be transported upright but that rarely causes these issues-----suspect either main signal board or also possible is the power supply (for voltages changing when set is on).
Also if set was opened look for all plugs to be seated--ones with cloth tape where they connect look at first.
failing that based on age of set consider having a technician look at it or if over 3 years consider a new set with extended warranty--70% of this type of set in our shop (100 plus sets at any time in for repair) are less than 3 years old.
Not sure if I just got lucky or if the problem is solved..I hooked up my Sharp Aquos LC-32D64U the other night and I had the blue audio box pop up. Mine was only in Mono and would not switch to Stereo...Well, Local cable company is of of Hi-Def boxes but I thought what if my Digital box is bad/old or has some sort of problem. I went down to comcast cable company switched to a different digitial box..came home, hooked it up and so far no blue audio box, plus now it shows that it's in stereo..good luck
You know, I've had two repair instances regarding this particular model line (D64U) where there were problems with only the analog inputs (such as the component/composite).... but with no problem with the HDMI inputs.
Replacing the Main Board fixed these TV's. Since both the Xbox and the Wii present the same problem on two separate inputs, this leads me to believe you most likely have a defective Main Board. If your TV is still under warranty, I suggest calling Sharp to locate your local authorized service center.
