Need to refill ink cartridges

My printer's print head won't return to the home position so that I can refill the ink cartridges. The printer is in the ready state with nothing pending. Any ideas?

Turn the printer on.
Lift the cover to expose the print-head mechanism.
The print-heads will slide to a position from where you can "unlock" the ink-cartridge from its holder, and then gently remove the empty(???) ink-cartridge.
Insert a new ink-cartridge (or refill the empty cartridge).
Close the lid.
Print a "test" page.

Please tell me how do I change the ink cartridge in my Epson TX650?

1) Looking at the front of the printer/scanner there is an indent on the left hand.

2) Lifting up on this portion should reveal the inside of the printer.

DO NOT touch the flat cable inside the printer, DO NOT force the lid, it should open easily.

3) The ink cartridge is underneath the plastic cover in the back right-hand side of the printer. Gently pull up on the cover until it swings open.

4) pinch the clips holding the ink cartridge in the printer and pull up.

5) Unpack the new ink cartridge.

6) Remove the tape that is on the ink cartridge.

(If you forget this step the printer won't print. If that happens, remove the new cartridge, remove the tape and then reinsert the cartridge)

7) Insert the ink cartridge and push gently until it clicks into place.

8) Close the cover over the ink cartridges, and then close the printer cover.

9) Follow any direction on the front display (hit OK)

How to change printing cartridges

Here's how to change your cartridges: 1 Make sure the printer is on. 2 Lift the scanner unit. The print cartridge carrier moves and stops at the loading position, unless the printer is busy. printmastert_25.jpg

3 Press down on the cartridge carrier latch to raise the cartridge carrier lid. printmastert_26.jpg

4 Remove the used print cartridge. Note: If you are removing both cartridges, repeat step 3 and step 4 for the second cartridge.

Sometimes the ink cartridge carrier won't automatically move to its loading position even when the printer is on and the cover is open. Follow the steps below:

1. Unplug the printer from the power source.

2. With the cover open, hold the solid white strip that connects from the carrier assembly to the ink cartridge carrier and gently slide the cartridge carrier to the center of the printer.

3. Remove the used cartridges.

4. Load the new cartridges. Close the cover.

5. Plug the printer back to the power source.

How do i install my ink cartridges into my epson stylus nx125

Starts on page 23. http://files.support.epson.com/pdf/nx125_/nx125_qr.pdf
Replacing Ink Cartridges Make sure you have a new ink cartridge before you begin. You must install new cartridges immediately after removing the old ones. Caution: Do not open ink cartridge packages until you are ready to install the ink. Cartridges are vacuum packed to maintain reliability. Note: Leave the expended cartridge installed until you have obtained a replacement, or the ink remaining in the print head nozzles may dry out. 1. Turn on your printer. 2. If an ink cartridge is expended, the error and ink lights on the control panel stay on. 3. Open the document cover, then open the ink cover. Caution: Do not remove the ink cartridge guard or you may damage the printer.24 Maintaining Your Printer 4. Press the y Stop button. If a cartridge is low or expended, the print head moves that cartridge to the replacement position to indicate that it should be replaced. The P Power light starts flashing. If two or more ink cartridges are expended, the expended cartridge at the far left moves to the replacement position. The P Power light starts flashing. If no cartridges are low or expended, the print head does not move. Note: Do not hold the y Stop button for more than three seconds, or the printer may start cleaning the print head. 5. Squeeze the tab on the cartridge and lift it up. Dispose of it carefully. Do not take the used cartridge apart or try to refill it. Warning: If ink gets on your hands, wash them thoroughly with soap and water. If ink gets into your eyes, flush them immediately with water. Keep ink cartridges out of the reach of children.Replacing Ink Cartridges 25 6. Before you open the new cartridge package, shake it gently four or five times. Then remove the cartridge from the package. Caution: Do not touch the green chip on the front of the cartridge. This can damage the ink cartridge. 7. Insert the new ink cartridge into the holder and push it down until it clicks into place. 9. Press the y Stop button. If another cartridge is low or expended, it moves to the replacement position. Repeat steps 5 through 8 to replace any other cartridges that need to be replaced. When you press the y Stop button and no other cartridges need to be replaced, the print head moves to its home position and the printer starts priming the ink. This takes about 1 1/2 minutes.26 Maintaining Your Printer When the P Power light stops flashing and the error and ink lights go out, ink charging is finished. 10. Close the ink cover, then close the document cover. Caution: Never turn off the your Epson printer while ink is charging or you'll waste ink. I have a hp deskjet 3320 printer and i refilled the black and colored ink and it still prints the words out mulitcolored like it is running out when i want it to print out in black

Sounds like your black cartridge has a clogged print head. If you bought a refill from a store or on-line you should take it back and either have them clean it (if they know how) or return it. If you refilled this yourself at home this is a problem that occurs when you let your cartridge dry out before you refill it. You can try and rehydrate the print head by placing it on a warm moist paper towel until you see ink soaking into the towel (ink stains most surfaces so be careful where you do this). Otherwise, I recommend Cartridge World for refills because they go through cleaning and print testing steps to make sure this doesn't happen.

Printer slow after putting in a refilled cartridge

Sounds like the TSR is out on your cartridge. The TSR is the heat sensor for your print head. If the TSR goes out it cannot tell the printer that the temp at the print head is at ok levels. So the printer assumes the print head is really hot and at risk of fusing its nozzles so it prints really slow (the faster the printing the hotter the print head gets). It is possible, but not very likely, that the ink in the cartridge is of such low quality that it is not cooling the print head properly as it flows through the nozzles. Thus the TSR tells the printer to print really slow so you don't burn up nozzles. If you got this cartridge refilled at a store or on-line I would return it and get your money back. I recommend Cartridge World for refills because if this happens to one of their refills they will give you a new refill at no charge.
