Hello. I am just wondering if you have a solution to my issue. Our garmin was left plugged in over the weekend, and we think the battery has been fried. It won't stay on, and takes forever to find a location WHEN it does work. What solutions do you have??? is there a place where i can get it worked on? i live in nashville, tn, and i can't get ANYWHERE without my garmin....is there a solution??????? We have tried hitting the reset button on the back, but that is ALL we know how to do.......please help me. I know this is not a 660, we have the versoin from last year, but we are at a loss....and these things are SO expensive!
Hello, Here was my problem. I was traveling at 60mph yesterday and my Nuvi 360 dislodged and fell down with a huge impact inside my car. I came home and tried to look for any damage. Unfortunately Nuvi had stopped to continue beyond loading maps screen. I tried rebooting , but the problem persisted. It would take me to reboot screen, but after screen calibration, when it came to loading map screen, again went blank. I tried this and just simple starting by pushing power button several times but to no avail. I called technical support, eho advised me to to just simply connect it to my labtop and leave it that way for 3 to4 hours. Bingo!, in the next 30 mins, I accidentally switched my laptop top off, but Nuvi had started to work all fine.
Try using either the Garmin AC adapter or your computer to charge the unit overnight and see if the battery will take a charge.
and takes forever to find a location WHEN it does work
Because the battery is dead data such as Date, Time, Last position and Timezone are lost each time you turn the unit off. Each time you turn on the unit it has to locate satellites and acquire satellites from scratch.
If recharging doesn't work, then your only option is to replace the battery. If the unit is still under warranty, then call Garmin for a RMA. If it is out of warranty then sell the unit for whatever you can get for it and buy a new one. Garmin charges $175 for battery replacement for out of warranty. New Nuvi 200 can be purchased for under $200 and refurbished C330 with the latest maps can be purchased for $140 on the internet.

Hi. We left our Nuvi 660 off for 3 months. Now it won't start at all. We did same thing - pushed reset, plugged it in and it won't even work plugged in. Any suggestions?

My Nuvi 350 car charger cord was destroyed when I plugged it into a bluetooth head set, so I bought a new one about a month ago and it worked fine. Then I took the Nuvi on a trip to Canada a couple of weeks ago. I didn't want to leave it in the rental car, so I put it in my luggage, and it must have had something leaning on it that kept it on and completely discharged the battery. When I plugged it into the cig lighter socket in the rental car again, it came on, but had trouble getting a satellite signal and wouldn't hold a charge; it used to stay on after being unplugged and give a 30 second warning before shutting down, but now it just shuts off. Even though getting a signal was slow, we were able to use it on our trip. But now it is making a buzzing sound when starting the car, and it still won't hold a charge, even though I have charged it in the car for over an hour. I have it plugged in to my computer right now (using a blackberry USB charger), but it only displays a screen with a picture of the unit plugged in to the computer. Is the Blackberry charger not powerful enough? Will this charge the unit? Is the battery dead?
I have the Garmin Nuvi 200. I can only use it with the car charger plugged in. Shouldn't it charge with the car charger to where I can use it without it being plugged in?
