Question about Computers & Internet
THE CD/DVD DRIVE does not work properly. We have a rectron computer with windows xp. If you load a cd into the drive it does not read it. I have checked the status and it says devive work properly. How do I fix this problem
Really the ONLY thing one can do.. is replace the unit with another know good working one.. IE:New. Usually a GOOD CD/DVD will instantly & always work... it will be picked up by windows and then the appropriate "Drivers" installed. As an IDE CD/DVD is "Generic" it generally doesn't require a "Special" Driver, so windows uses it's "Own" driver. Therefore generally if it's showing as OK in Windows, but is NOT going... then, usually, as I said, it is kaput.. for some reason... usually the laser Diode or Quadrant detector...
