My Samsung is 4 years old. The screen is slow to turn on. Now, after the tv is turned on, there are verticle lines and other distortion.

there has been white flashing light, white blured distortion, and it turned off because of over heating. The t.v. is a four year old samsung DLP

I have a Samsung DLP 42 inch ... The screen has evenly spaced vertical lines all the way across the screen. This is definitely not a loose cable or a an attached device. What could be the cause and what might be the resolution?

Numerous white spots on Smasung DLP TV

same problem for me ... check out this thread on AVSforums about it.

I have the same exact tv as you and had the same problem. I took it to a repair shop who told me I needed a new DMD chip and that it would be 850 to fix. I used the information in thread above to get the part number and bought the chip on ebay for under 200. Here is a link to the listing CHIP

People have had good success. I will be replacing mine tomorrow.
