No audio file will play on WMP, no dvd or audio disk will play...

I try to play music via my files which are wma files, i try to play a dvd and it just skips around the disk and wont play. Not a single music file will play. All the audio from the compter works (the dings and what not). Maybe unrelated but no program i have (stock vista media players) will play a dvd or music files. I used the microsoft help and it came up with "You've encountered error message C00D11DF while using Windows Media Player." ive searched as much of the internet as i know how and cant find a solution. ive tried drivers, system restore, codecs, and nothing works. im running vista.

C00D11 ERROR SOLVED.........well this is the solution every one gives me and its not the fix. Alll the drivers are updated, there is a sound device installed, and is functioning properly. What I had to do to fix the error was go into my device manager and disable part of the sound card that wasnt functioning. This was the SPDIF interface. Once i disabled this every thing worked fine, sill i will be looking to remove it and get a new one but it is a temporay fix for any one to solve your C00D11.... errors while trying to play files on WMP.

Windows Media Player cannot play several files in the playlist. This might be caused by one or more problems.
To find information about the specific problems, click the Now Playing tab, and then click the blue or red icon next to each file in the List pane.
In some cases, you might encounter this error message if there is a problem with your sound device, such as a sound card or sound controller. For example:

  • Your sound device requires an updated driver. To determine if an updated driver is available, see Windows Update or see the sound device manufacturer's Web site.
  • Your sound device is not functioning properly. To troubleshoot the problem, see Windows Help and Support or refer to your sound device's documentation.
  • You do not have a sound device installed on your computer. Install a sound device, and then try to play the file again

Why canā€™t I play WMA music files in my car

First you going to need to answer a bunch of questions. You need to give the make model and year of the car you're trying to play these on. Second, what are you using to play the files (your cell phone, an iPod type device, or you loaded the files into the hard drive of the radio itself (mostly found on Dodge Chrysler vehicles)

Remove DRM from WMV WMA

What is DRM? Why do we remove DRM from WMA WMV? Have you download music and video from Windows Media Player, iTunes, Rhapsody, Napster, bearshare, Spiral Frog, BBC iPlayer downloads? These popular music and movie download programs among the music fans always come with a disgusting word - 'DRM'.
DRM (Digital Rights Management) - The anti consumer copy protection that prevents you from using music or movies in a way that suits you. For example, if a WMA or WMV you downloaded from WMP(windows media player) that has DRM, you can only play it back on a compatible device, so if every piece of music had DRM on it you would need to buy the same track on CD to listen in your CD player or car, as an iTunes download to play on your iPod, as a ms store download to play on your Zune etc, but since you paid for it once you shouldn't be forced to pay for it again and again and again, remove DRM license from WMA WMV and other protected files then you can play the music video on phone, iPod, Zune, PSP, CD player, pc, burn DRM protected WMV files to DVD and copy drm protected wmv itunes m4v movie files to anything else that you can listen to music video on.
How to remove DRM from WMA WMV? I got a few methods listed below:
1. Burn and rip
Actually, there is a common free method to remove DRM from WMA with 2 steps, Step 1 Burn the protected WMA to a CD
Step 2 Rip them off to your computer, then the DRM should be removed from the WMA files.
But it's not very convenient and may wear out your CR-ROM. And windows media player can only burn and rip the WMA (or you will need DVD copy and DVD ripper for other formats).
2. Re-record
One of the most common and simple technology is recording the DRM protected WMA then use an ordinary converter to convert the recorded and unprotected files. Because this technology is easy to realized and easy to support more DRM formats besides protected WMA it is welcomed by most of the DRM converters like the SoundTaxi, NoteBurner , etc.
But there are some disadvantages for those programs.
1. The conversion speed won't get much improvement due to the long recording process.
2. Much audio and video quality could be lost during the recording process.
3. Hook
Hook is another new and more complicated technology which can be used to remove DRM license from protected WMA WMV files. Comparing with recording process, these sorts of drm removal have much higher conversion speed, but it's hard to make it support some DRM formats with new and lofty encrpytion tachniques.
And as far as I know, Aimersoft was one of its supporters. After giving a test for some free trials I found it is convenient to crack DRM from protected WMA WMV files with Aimersoft Media Converter, and it also supports other formats conversion like AAC, AC3, WAV, M4A, M4b, MP3, etc.

My mp3 says file format error when I try to listen to the music.

It's possible that the file type of the music file(s) you are trying to listen to are not a supported format of your mp3 player. Your player only supports MP3 and WMA audio formats. You should check the music files you are tying to play to confirm they are of a compatible format.

How do I put a cd onto my phillips go gear player?

Hello,

On a Windows System, most GoGear players can be detected in either
Windows Media Player 10 or 11. Use the WMP version that matches your player.

Before putting music onto the player, audio should already be or must be converted into the correct format.
Most GoGear mp3 players support music in the format mp3 and wma: this is the extension of a compressed audio file: e.g. track1.mp3 or song2.wma, similar to a text file, that could bare the name textfile1.txt .
Consult the manual of your model player for the correct extension and bitrate: bitrate is the density of the bits used to make a compressed audio file.

In WMP 10 or 11 the function RIP can be used to convert an 'ordinary' audio CD into mp3 audio tracks.
Look in the player's manual or go to the site of Microsoft for more information about using Windows Media Player.

Downloaded files from audio Cds as .WMA files. MP3 wont play them, states "Unknown format".

Assuming you've used Windows Media Player to rip them, you'll need to bring up the Options dialog box. Click Tools > Options (you may need to press Alt or right click on a blank space in WMP to bring up the main menu.
From there, click on the 'Rip Music' tab and find the Format dropdown under 'Rip Settings'. Change 'Windows Media Audio' to 'MP3' and click OK. You'll now need to re-rip all of the music and re-transfer it to your device.

How do you download music into the pantech c740 music player?

Before answering this, keep the following in mind about uploading files to your phone:
MP3 would be my personal choice for the phone you have. Since you are using Windows Media Player (WMP) on your PC, I assume that any music you have ripped with it would be in WMA format, or maybe WAV. WAV is compatible with your phone, but I haven't tried WMA.
Get into the folder the files for the player are stored in (usually My Music), and look at the format by right clicking and selecting properties. If the file format is not compatible with your phone, you can try changing the file extension by opening any folder, selecting tools>folder options>view, and then unclick "hide known file extensions." Then go back to the file and rename it, but only change the file extension. Example: if the file is named "music.wma", the you would change it to "music.mp3." This usually works with common audio files.
To answer your main question, the easiest way is to bypass all the media player ****, and go straight to the file folder where you music is stored in your "My Music" folder.
The following will work with a mini SD card too.
First connect your phone to your computer via a USB cable. A folder options box should come up. Choose to open the folder and explore files. It may not say exactly that, but you'll sort it out I'm sure. Find the "audio" folder inside the phone, and open it.
Then in your computer's music files, find the folder containing the music you want to put on your phone (usually "My Music"), right click the music file you want and select "copy". Go back to the folder for your phone or card, and copy the file into it. That's it.
There are many ways to copy the files with this method, but this one is the easiest to explain. You can copy entire folders to your phone, if you have enough memory. Also, ripped CD folders often contain album art, so I recommend selecting the files you want to copy, rather than the whole folder. Holding Ctrl while highlighting the files you want to copy will enable you to select multiple files and copy them all at once.

Music downloaded as WMA from PC to MP3tech MP3S4 wont play

Your player should support both MP3 and WMA files. What happens when you try to play an MP3 instead? Have you tried other bit-rates? Those you are trying may be too high or low.
