Most likely the problem is a clogged or jammed drain pump impeller. First shut off power to the washer by unplugging it or turning off the breaker. Then remove the screen in the bottom of the washer,clean it out reinstall then run washer

It appears your timer has failed in this instance.

For replacement parts - head on over to PartSelect.com or RepairClinic.com and enter in your full model number for a full parts listing.
I recommend both sites because ...


FixYa has no affiliation with either site - I have been using and recommending them for years - trouble free.

PartSelect has a great schematic database for locating the part on your unit and great "testimonials" for each part that often times includes HOW-TO information.
RepairClinic has pictures of each part they sell and also a great how-to and troubleshooting for basic repairs.


If your unit has never been serviced - there should still be an original service manual enclosed in plastic taped to the inside of the shell.
In the service manual are Error codes, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting steps you can follow.


Anything too complicated or beyond your scope should be handled by a professional.

SOURCE: My swan 2030b washing machine won't finish the cycle

This displays and error and it can be possible that the inlet flow is low, the inlet filter is clogged or the drain is faulty all of which can reduce the fill/drain timing and so causes an error..
Please remove and clean the filters and check the inlet flow pressure..

Constant clicking of door lock
Suggestion: Try a little WD40 spray on the door, not on the machine. Close and open 2 or 3 times while plug is off the wall mains.

My Kenmore front load washer will not fill--it sounds like it is draining instead. The last load washed did not spin correctly and the clothes were very wet when cycle completed.

Washer Not Filling:


  • Door Not Closed and Locked
    • Front load washers won't fill if the door is not closed and locked. Listen for the door locking when starting a cycle, then pull on the door to make sure the door is closed and locked.
  • Delayed Start Feature
    • Some washers have a delay prior to filling, where the electronic control is checking the dispenser function. This is Normal.
  • Flashing Lights or Error Code on Display
    • When there is a filling issue, the washer may shut off and display one of the following codes: LF, LE, nF, IE, FH, E10 or F20.
    • If the washer is displaying one of the above error codes, then do the hard reset procedure listed below.

If the appliance is not accepting input from the control panel, follow the steps below to reset the control:

  1. Unplug or turn the circuit breaker off for 30 seconds.
  2. Plug the power cord into the wall outlet or turn the breaker back on and wait 30 seconds.
  3. Press the Pause / Cancel / Stop button twice to clear the display.
  4. Start a short cycle, to check operation of the appliance, by selecting a cycle and pressing and holding the start button until the appliance starts.

The Ariston 1400wd unfortunately doesn't have a very good reputation. From what you've described it sounds like the main control board has a fault on it, but this will need to be verified by a competent technician because it is also possible (though a little less likely) that one of the sensors is sending back the wrong information to the board. I'm sorry, but really the best thing to do would be to get a technician to verify exactly what's going on with your Ariston, this can't practically be done by email.I wish you good luck with it and I'm sorry I couldn't be of more help to you.J Knol

If its showing a key symbol then the child lock is on.Press and hold the start/pause button in for several seconds and this should take the child lock off and start to work again.

Ariston LS 2020 taking more than two hours to go through cycle.

The water temp thermostat is to blame or the water is not heating.Basically what happens is the washer fills with cold water and starts to wash and heat at the same time.Once the water reaches a certain temperature it moves onto the next stage of the wash program.If the water is not heating or the thermostat is not working the programmer wont get the signal to move on.Hope this helps.
