try setting the tv to channel 3 or 4. if that does not work, try finding a "input" or "source" or video" button on the remote and cycle thru them, this should get you back up and running. remember to have the cable box turned on during this so youll see when it comes back on.
In the menu screen, you must find antenna connections. For example " TV Air "(over the air channels 2 through 13) or cable TV. You must tell the menu to select cable TV (with the original remote). This will allow you access to channel 90. Thanks for asking and show a few hands of support.
U just take ur tv original remote just turn to channel 3?Why is ur cable service connected to channel 3?The proper way to connect to cable service is get the pay cable connected.Take ur original tv remote.Push Menu on ur remote,go to SET UP go down the CH Setup, pick cable, than scan for all the pay cables channels you pay for.
I've never, ever heard of this problem - having been a happy TiVo user for over 15 years. The very first thing I would do is call Comcast and tell them what is occurring. How long had everything worked OK before this happened? If things were OK for a long time before this, and if your TV carrier was, likewise, Comcast for a long time; and if you haven't gotten a new TV or cable box for a long time, then the problem must rest with Comcast. It must!
In our home, with the number of movies, shows/sporting events/etc. which we record, that would be totally unacceptable!
Try this: Unplug everything (with everything turned off). Make sure your TiVo remote is good (fully charged batteries and the code is right for your TV/cable box), Wait for 10 minutes and plug everything back in, starting with TiVo, then the TV, then any other accessories.
Plug back in and do a complete restart from scratch - like you did when you first set up TiVo.
Make SURE that your receiving channel (3 or 4) is the same on both. It could be that someone accidentally has changed it - are there kids in the house?
If none of this works, get Comcast in there. That's all I can tell you. . .
I re-did the guided setup in the Tivo under Messages & Settings/Restart-Reset System/Restart menu section in Tivo. Once I did that, it cleared this issue, even though I didn't have to change any of my settings thru this guided setup. I tried a reset alone first, but that did not fix it. Only this fixed it. We had lost both power and cable during a recent tree fall in a storm, and when both were restored, this problem started. I have a cable coax directly in the back of the TV (no cable box/IR etc) and the system is on a home wireless network. I actually have 2 identical Tivo's in the house set up the same way but only one had this problem. The other worked no different after the outage.
I personally would get myself a "Universal Remote".
These units will operate almost ANY unit that uses Infrared... Ya Punch a "Code" in for your particular TV etc, and thats it... total conrtol...
