Question about LG LRFD21855 Stainless Steel French Door Refrigerator
The lights are controlled by the main board. You need to get a new board. You should also lower the wattage from 60 to 40

Try and reset the door switch by pushing it down once or twice and confirm

Are you talking about the buttons that turn off the light for the door switch?
The lights will not go out and the plastic is melting.
Same problem, but intermitant. Twice the lights have failed to turn off and caused distortion to lens. I noticed that when this occurs you can hear no sound when the door switch is pushed in. When it works properly, you can here a clicking sound coming from somewhere when the door switch is pushed in. (possibly a relay?)
Today, my secretary informed me that her Kenmore made by LG just did the same thing and caused burn damage around the light fixture. Seems to be a pattern here!
I unscrewed one of the bulb to reduce the amount of heat available when it happens again.
The interior lights will not go off and there are signs of heat damage around the plastic casing. I have pushed in the switches that allow the lights to come on and go off but nothing happens. For the time being, I have unscrewed the bulbs. What is causing this problem?
